AHS Offensive Line Coach,
By Ernesto Sandoval (Laredo, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Assembly Line (Hardcover)
One of the best books on offesive line play that I have read to date. Coach Tenopir teaches coaches about OL play with the same patience and understanding he uses with his players. The breakdown and analysis of Nebraska's inside zone, outside zone, counter and trap games leaves little to the imagination. He puts it all out there for everybody to see and then dares defensive coaches to stop it. In addition, his chapters on practice routines and offseason conditioning make this book a year round tool for today's coaches. I highly recommend this book to any OL coach just starting out, a 10-year veteran in need of a new perspective and re-kindling of passion for the game, or an old vet looking for a new scheme or two.

Awesome,
By Midnight Rider (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Assembly Line (Hardcover)
This is the best book that I have read concerning the I-offense ever. The offense that we have run for close to 20 years is based on the Iso, Fullback Trap, and Counter running plays. Coach Tenopir does a great job detailing these plays and their adjustments against the 3-4,4-3, and 4-4 fronts. These plays, along with the double option, were the staples of Nebraska's offense for over 30 years. I knew nothing about coaching offensive line and bought this book based on Nebraska's reputation for running the football and was pleasantly surprised to discover how detailed and well written it was. Our team improved dramatically in our running game when I implemented the rules that I took directly from this book. We won a game in the final minute when we blocked an Iso play against a 3-4 front using the fold block adjustment from this book. I tried to get our Head Coach to run the Counter Sweep and Speed option from this book but he is set in his ways and is afraid to learn new things or improve on old ones. The running game is well defined but the passing is not that detailed. However,if you are looking for a complete offense using an I-attack, improve your I- running attack, or simply want to know the nuts and bolts of successful line play than this book is definately for you. My copies getting worn and I will probably buy another for myself to keep pristine in my library.
