This has informal reading/spelling/writing assessments for all levels with clear instructions on how to administer as well as interpret, and can be used multiple times in a year. Fabulous. Much better than the Brigance, which I find limited.

This is a great tool for assessing reading skills for students grades Kg-12. It provides pre, mid, and post measures to help assess progress. This is a tool that can be used during the RTI process to determine weaknesses. Special Education teachers will find it useful for off grade level assessing.

I was needing something to help me help struggling readers. This gives assessments, a cursory interpretation of results,a flow chart for which ones to use and when. It also gives suggestions of how to remediate based upon the results. It is also lists them according to age group and describes what the assessment is designed to test.

This text is absolutely a wonderful resource for teachers to use to support students and analyze the reading/comprehension difficulties they are experiencing. It gives you a broader picture and you are able to pinpoint some important cracks in a student's reading foundations.
