Susan Bakewell-Sachs is presently the coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at The College of New Jersey, Ewing, NJ. Her clinical background includes neonatal intensive care, home follow-up care of high risk infants and their families, and primary care of high-risk infants. Dr. Bakewell-Sachs practices one day per week in the high-risk clinic in the primary care center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Her primary research interest focuses on discharge management and long-term outcomes of preterm infants and their families.

Dr. Bakewell-Sachs is a member of the March of Dimes National Nurse Advisory Council, the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, the National Association of Neonatal Nurses and Sigma Pheta Tau. She is certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner by the American Nurses' Credentialing Center.

Valerie Shaw

Valerie Delores Shaw is the Nurse Manager of the Special Care Nurseries at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.

She currently is certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in New Jersey. For the past eight years, Ms. Shaw has served as co-adjunct faculty in Maternal Child Health at Rutgers University School of Nursing. She is co-author of two chapters in an obstetric text and is presently writing additional articles for the publication.

Ms. Shaw is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, the Delaware Valley Association of Neonatal Nurse, and Sigma Theta Tau.

Ms. Shaw is currently pursuing her doctorate in nursing at the University of Maryland.

Amy L. Tashman

Amy Tashman is the Assistant Nurse Manager of the Special Care Nurseries at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.

She is currently certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing by the National Certification Corporation, and serves as a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Regional Trainer for the American Heart Association/American Academy of Pediatrics. She has also served as clinical faculty for undergraduate nursing students in Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

Mrs. Tashman is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, the Delaware Valley Association of Neonatal Nurses, and the Association of Women's Health Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.
