5.0 out of 5 stars Long Over Due
The authors have done a great service to Pr Janda's legacy by masterfully summarizing his management approach in this comprehensive book. They have managed something which even the great Pr Janda could not - namely, summarizing his brilliant work! It is all here - posture & gait analysis; movement pattern assessment; sensory-motor training; etc.. And, most importantly,...

2.0 out of 5 stars Assessment and Treatment of Muscle imbalance:The Janda Approach
The presentation "looks good" before your buy. HOWEVER it is extremely limited to actual practice. Jumps from theory to theory (in 10 of so little sentence paragraphs) of "the Janda Approch". In reality there is little specific treatment information, except for a very small section showing pictures of patient and P.T. person with once again,in todays medicine, outdated...

This review is from: Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance:The Janda Approach (Hardcover)
And, most importantly, they show how current research is progressing the rehabilitation model forward consistent with Pr Janda's groundbreaking theories.

Thank you Phil, Clare & Robert!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for treating muscular skeletal problems, May 28, 2010
This review is from: Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance:The Janda Approach (Hardcover)
It is too bad that Dr.Vladimir Janda is not among us anymore. He is a genius who brought us inside treating muscular skeletal problems. Fortunately, a set of amazing clinicians wrote a nice book to bring his ideas all together. The book is easy to read, has lots of pictures and, best of all, it is all evidence-based practice. For anybody who treats muscular skeletal problems, this book will be extremely helpful. If you apply his methods, you will get results.

This review is from: Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance:The Janda Approach (Hardcover)
Finally! A comprehensive review of Vladimir Janda's work from people who worked side by side with him during his amazing life and career. Up to this point, it has been a challenge to find written works from Janda. Now, we have it all in one incredible book, which we can use for direct therapeutic application as well as reference.

This is a great book for any manual therapist. It's an easy read and full of useful information to use in clinic. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of purchasing it. I know I had it on my wishlist for awhile, and I'm glad I finally bought it.

4.0 out of 5 stars BB, May 7, 2011
This review is from: Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance:The Janda Approach (Hardcover)
This is a good textbook overall, though I expected more specific guidelines from Janda and more atypical muscle testing techniques than was given. I found this to be a good review but nothing so different from other textbooks.

The presentation "looks good" before your buy. HOWEVER it is extremely limited to actual practice. Jumps from theory to theory (in 10 of so little sentence paragraphs) of "the Janda Approch". In reality there is little specific treatment information, except for a very small section showing pictures of patient and P.T. person with once again,in todays medicine, outdated old procedures. I believe Mr Janda "in his time" was able to state his different theories and they were interesting. However when later compiled and made into this book by current authors---it is in this day and age "old information" and is not at all current with todays information and methods. Guess I sum it up as boaring and outdated. If you like old theory and history buy it, OTHERWISE you to will be dissapointed as well.
