This review is from: Assignment Mermaid (Mass Market Paperback)
I thought this book would be kinda timid, but, it was very clever and packed with double-crosses, lots of murderous twists and turns, some great villains, Durell's old nemisis, Skoll and his deadly KGB goons. Narrow escapes, some rough fist-fights, an intense gun battle at sea near the end, good back up characters and a fast-paced and well thought out plot makes this Durell novel one of the better ones in the classic series. A violent and trecherous stroll down the lane of international mayhem, murder and treason, blend in the danger of a rogue nation with nuclear weapons and presto, Assignment: Mermaid. Five .38 Specials for this baby.
