5.0 out of 5 stars Sam Durell in Africa tracking down a missing fortune in US money, September 25, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Sam Durell, K Section agent for the CIA is sent into a war-wracked African country to recover three hundred million US dollars that went missing in the civil war. Dictator's ruthless killers, mercenaries, a dangerous pair of British women and others are all out to stop Durell and take the money. Lots of plot twists as is expected with this terrific series as Durell is allied with a female CIA agent, an old friend who runs the local brothel, Willy Wells, the Nam mercenary makes his first apparence, a pair of local secret police get in the mix as a contending general and his forces are blasted into submission as the money comes more into play. Lots of gunplay, torture, Durell takes a beatin' again, good local flavor and color, good secondary characteers make for a fast and fun read in this classic adventure/spy series. I give this five .38 Specials and Durell rules.
