I would love these suckers if they didn't use acesulfame potassium, or Acesulfame K, as a main ingredient. In various rat studies, Acesulfame K produced lung tumors, mammary tumors, and rare types of tumors in other organs (such as the thymus gland), several forms of leukemia and chronic respiratory disease, even when less than maximum doses were given. According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, it was petitioned on August 29, l988 for a stay of approval by the FDA because of "significant doubt" about its safety.

They taste great, but frankily, I'm afraid to eat them. Why not use Stevia instead?

Although they are sugar free, they pack a very good flavor. My wife had gestational diabetes and the nurses suggested sugar free lollipops to snack on. I searched high and low but no one in my area had any such product. As luck would have it, I found this brand. Not only did the order get to me quickly, the receipt was personalize w/a happy face and signature. Will buy from again, as well as recommend to all my friends and family.

I love picking up lollipops for myself and as treats for my children for a job well done. The children can't tell the difference between the sugar gluten free and the ones with sugar.
