5.0 out of 5 stars Read my review under the Humby's "These Days"offering ..., May 13, 2006
This review is from: Assume the Position It's (Audio CD)
This [Audio CD] is by a group of guys from Eng-land who put this out in '04...But this is classic 60's style garage rock that has the advantage of about 40 years of perspective. Think of an extremely well done kind of derivative sound that combines some great musical ideas of the past with the clear focus(?) of today's best garage rock offerings. Perfect for party music or just to get your motor runnin' when you head out on the highway, lookin' for adventure (or whatever comes your way...). Personally, I will buy the next "Jarvis Humby" release, sound unheard, if there is one. The Humbys are reminiscent of: The... Byrds, Kinks, Swingin'Medallions, Spencer Davis Group, Castaways, Knickerbockers, Sonics, Easybeats, Music Explosion, Woggles, Del-Tones, Troggs, Human Beinz, Gentrys, Link Wray,...or "any of many" old school/soul/surf/frat/psych/garage rockers...but BETTER !!!! That's right, better. Happenin' NOW!!! Think what might have been if there had NOT been a British Rock Invasion...and things had evolved differently, into an alternate rock reality...yeah!...right!! And, irony of ironies, these guys, the Humbys, ARE British! All right, enough talk. You owe it to yourself, and your loved ones, to BUY THIS ALBUM NOW. no bullshiRt. DO IT. You can't afford NOT to. If, by some macabre twist of fate, you DON'T like it, give it to someone with some sense and pretend you DO like it, and then you can gain a shred of respect from your betters...you poser. Later.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Band ROCKS!, March 14, 2006

I bought this used from a Cats Music Store, based on the fact that it was advertised as a gagrage band CD. Boy is that true, this CD makes you feel like you are in a band practice session outside.

Regardless of the fact that it was made in 2004, thisa band could have been around in the 70's, the 80's, or even as a grunge band in the 90's.

You hear Iggy Pop and the Stooges, the Moody Blues, the psychedelic sounds of the 60's and 70's, The sex pistols and a million other bands in this music.

The music is unique, the band is driven and the musical quality is great. Buy the CD used, if you are out for a good time, you cant go wrong.

After a while, the vocal melodies start to sound alike, and it kinda-sorta sounds like most of the songs are stuck in the same groove. Those minor points aside, it's loaded with energy and crazy fun.
