Book Description

March 4, 2008 Asterix

The hysterical historical hero from the Roman era continues to conquer the world!  With more than 330 million copies sold and 11,000 websites devoted to the series, Asterix is a global sensation. These engagingly witty and record-breaking books have become the highest-selling series ever even surpassing Harry Potter.

Every fan will have to own these gift-quality volumes, the first two in a projected series. They’ll all be released in one-off printings to increase their collectibility, and each will have special spine artwork that builds across the entire set. It’s an incredible, irresistible value!

For the first time ever, the three stories that started it all are gathered together in one beautiful collector’s volume!  Asterix the Gaul introduces us to our indomitable hero and his friends, who try to defend one small Gallic village from the surrounding Romans.  In Asterix and the Golden Sickle, he, Obelix, and Lutetia try to buy a new sickle for Getafix. But somehow the sicklesmith has disappeared without a trace. And Asterix and Obelix have to ride to the rescue when the Goths kidnap Getafix in Asterix and the Goths.

This review is from: Asterix Omnibus 1: Includes Asterix the Gaul #1, Asterix and the Golden Sickle #2, Asterix and the Goths #3 (Hardcover)
I am very happy to see these wonderful comics are being printed in omnibus editions. I bought the whole series There are at least 33 of these Since they were produced when I was growing up, I appreciate all of the humor that they had. They are full of barrels of laugh and a little bit of history. Join the two heroes in their adventures around the world.
