Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

This book is a gem among similar books on the subject currently available. The author, an asthma medical specialist and well-known writer, has provided a definitive and practical self-help program for asthma sufferers. The book is well thought out, comprehensive, and straightforward. It addresses all aspects of asthma, including its physiology; theories on causes; the role of the environment, diet, and behavior; and treatments. It provides complete management programs for all types of patients. The emphasis on patient self-education in concert with physician evaluation and guidance is commendable. Emphatically recommended for the general public. Mark L. Dembert, Navy Environmental Health Ctr., Norfolk, Va.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very thorough and informative, slightly out of date, February 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Asthma (Mass Market Paperback)
I found this book very informative; it's one of the first "self help" books that was available for asthma. Some of the treatment regimens are out of date with current thinking, but still very helpful (the book was copyright 1987).
