Astonica's stainless steel patio heater takes the chill out of the air, so you can enjoy the outdoors for longer hours and more seasons. Similar to the models popular at outdoor cafés, the sturdy wind-resistant structure casts an even warmth up to 195 feet. The heating unit, powered by a 20-pound tank of propane or butane, transforms flame energy into infrared heat and has an output range of 19,000 to 45,000 Btu's. The fuel tank (which is not included) rests securely out of the way under the cylindrical shield, while the constant pilot light and electric push igniter are located at a child-safe height. A temperature dial adjusts heat from low to high. Measuring 31-3/4 inches in diameter, the scalloped aluminum reflector canopy disperses heat outward, while protecting the heating unit from the weather. Not appropriate indoors or near combustible materials, the unit automatically shuts off when no heat is detected from the flame. --Emily Bedard

+ it works
- the mushroom is smaller than most other heaters in this class
+ the mushroom comes apart for storage
- no tip over gas protection
+ it's not going to tip over and you can transport it on its side
+ it comes apart in two pieces that will fit in your car
- the diffusion grate does not appear to be of the same quality as the endless summer heaters
- difficult to light compared to endless summer heaters
+ once the pilot is lit, it works well
+ easy to change gas cyliner, easy to access
+ assembles in under 10 minutes out of the box

I would buy it again.

You're gonna have to like assembly work. The product comes in a ridiculous number of pieces and has inaccurate/poor instructions. The mushroom alone comes in seven pieces, all shrunk wrapped and has eighteen nuts & bolts. The shrink wrap takes 1 hour to remove and the rest of the assembly another 45 minutes. The whole thing takes 2 hours of competent handyman time. ...
