Our son and daughter in law got this for us as a gift since we love starting seedlings indoors at least a few months before we transplant them, and this is a gem of a little green house that works splendid. It holds two seedling trays on each shelf, and the zipper door works like a gem and I place it near a window and away from drafts and it stays warm enough that within two weeks we had healthy seedlings up and going.

The nice thing about the two sided zipper doors is that as the seedlings grow and you want or need to reduce the heat inside you can unzip 1/4, 1/2, or the entire way the doors which allows plenty of protection but also cools the seedlings down.

And it isn't a shabby item but extremely well made and easy to assemble. And come spring when nights still get cool, you can place the whole thing outside and keep the zipper doors open all day and then zip up at night to protect from the cold.

And the price is excellent, and the item will last years and years I think, and is easy to take apart if you need to move or need to store during the summer etc. And its great for our small cottage so would be great on an apartment patio or large home back deck.

I am even considering trying it out as a solar food dryer this next summer.....

I bought this last spring and was disappointed. First, it arrived with 1 shelf and one pole piece missing. It took almost 4 weeks to get replacement parts. The shelves were light and flimsy so don't count on loading lots of heavy containers on them, though very suitable for lightweight containers. Made the mistake of temporarily sitting it outdoors last fall, staking it to the ground, and the first night a thunderstorm destroyed the zippered cover. STILL haven't been able to get a replacement cover.

I ordered 2 of these last fall in order to get a head start on the 2004 seed starting season. Very simple to put together, and actually much larger than I expected; perfect in front of a large window or sliding glass door. good quality and good value for your dollar!

Recieved quickly. Had small tear in vinyl that I could have taped, but I called Astonica to get a replacement. Having read some of the bad reviews I didn't know what to expect - but I was impressed. They replaced the WHOLE unit, and I was able to keep the other unit! 10 stars not 5!
