I don't know if it's the packing or what but my bench was damaged in several places, including broken iron supports. Box was severely damaged and no hardware was in the box. My guess is that it fell out during shipping. I think it's worth the extra price to get from your local home improvement store and not have to deal with having to return the damaged item. Please note I did not buy off Amazon but it was the same item and the reviews on that seller's site were pretty much the same. Damaged and missing hardware.

I have similar bench by same company that i've had outdoors for 10 years and it has held up really well. this autumn bench came damaged..the metal sides were broken. amazon was great with a quick easy replacement, but still a bit of a hassle that it was broken. Assembly is easy but the middle of bench support used to have the holes pre-drilled, and it didn't here, so you have to drill. 2 of the screws broke the screw head off going in, flimsy screws, and now the screw is in, but the support is not attached, so it hangs down. bummer. with that said, the bench is pretty, it looks sturdy (but for the brace that i have not attched that hangs there with no purpose, until i figure out what to do...i guess start over with my own screws and move the whole brace). my experience with this bench is that it lasts really forever and it comfortable and attractive at a fraction of the price of other benches.

Shipped the first time without complete parts. Was shipped a second time in a tattered box and the rod iron parts were actually broken in pieces.

I was going to try one more time, but the customer service told me they were going to discontinue the item due to so many problems with this product and refunded me my money.
