3.0 out of 5 stars an honest review, May 4, 2006
This review is from: Astonishing X-Men: Mystique, Vol. 4 - Quiet (Paperback)
I started with this series from the beginning and enjoyed the first two volumes a great deal. Unfortunately, after those the story becomes less enthralling. Plot lines that were still going were wrapped up in ways that felt a little forced and the initial punch just wasn't there.

That being said, it was not that bad of a book. If I had not liked the first two volumes as much as a I did then I probably would have liked this one much more. You should definitely read the volumes in the right order as the plot is an espionage kind of thing with a lot of plot threads that would be hard ot folllow without reading their beginnings.

As for vhspreowner's review, it is ridiculous and should be deleted or ignored. I have stumbled onto so many trollish reviews from this guy I am starting to develop a vendetta. If he just picked up this volume then it would of course be difficult to understand anyone able to read the volume number could have figured that out. Although if you couldn't do that then the story would simply be way too complex as it was written for those above a first grade reading level.

3.0 out of 5 stars overall interesting story, July 10, 2006

This review is from: Astonishing X-Men: Mystique, Vol. 4 - Quiet (Paperback)
I actually just read this last installment in the story and it wasn't nearly as good as the first two books, actually it was the most disappointing out the four books, but that being said its still falls in line with the complexity of mystiques character. I think that the review written by "comicscholar", mr. Kovacs sums it up best and desrcibes it better than I ever could. I think he is more familiar with the overall series. If you like x-men I still think that you will enjoy the final installment but it only works if you have read all four books in the correct order. The review written by VHS preowner is stupid, and out of curiousity, I read a number of his other reviews. In reviewing "Pirates of the Carribean, Dead mans chest" he has the stupidity to say that johnny Depp can't act" Depp is probably one of the most brilliant actors in hollywood today. He is an amazing actor and preowners inane remarks leads me to conclude that all his reviews are probably worthless; anyway, "Quiet" was an entertaining read and I still liked it although not as much as the first three installments.

3.0 out of 5 stars Graphic SF Reader, September 3, 2007
This review is from: Astonishing X-Men: Mystique, Vol. 4 - Quiet (Paperback)
Mystique finally finds out who the Quiet Man is. Once she has worked out this particular mystery, her nasty, sneaky, devious mind has to try and work out who she is most annoyed with.

Or, in other words, which side of the equation should she try and bump off. Seems ol' Chuck Xavier draws the short straw.
