5.0 out of 5 stars Greatness
Nightcrawler just plains rock. I always loved him, he has such unique emotions that set him out from all the other characters. His story about not knowing who's his real parents are and joining the circus and falling in love with his step sister but then getting his heart broken by that stupid evil doctor. He gets abused, totured and amazingly he still has that sense of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good art terrible writing
Nightcrawler is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe. The chance to really explore the duality of his nature and the few shots I saw of the impressive artwork led me to buy this. The writer mr sacsa may be a decent writer for plays but the story and dialog in this was terrible. It sounded like it was written by a third grader. Maybe I have just been...

Maybe I have just been reading to much Alan Moore, garth Enis, and Neil Gaimon and have unrealistic expectations for the modern graphic novel writer but I couldnt even make it through the whole story.

Credit where credit is due...the artwork was very vibrant and interesting

His story about not knowing who's his real parents are and joining the circus and falling in love with his step sister but then getting his heart broken by that stupid evil doctor. He gets abused, totured and amazingly he still has that sense of humor. It's an emotional, wild and out of this world trip and I love it, all x-men fans will enjoy and maybe even the non x-men fans will like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Graphic SF Reader, September 3, 2007
This review is from: Astonishing X-Men: Nightcrawler, Vol. 1 - The Devil Inside (Paperback)
Nightcrawler, with some X-Men assistance, goes ghostbuster.

In the first part of the trade, 13 children staying in a psychiatric facility have been slaughtered, and he investigates.

Old girlfriend Amanda Sefton, now quite powerful and living in limbo is a very handy person to know through all this. Fourteen children, fourteen demons.

In the last part, he comes across some ghosts in a railway tunnel, and they need remembering.
