Finding their niche March 7, 2011
Format:MP3 Download|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you've followed Abandon Kansas from their early days, you know it's important for them to bring energy into their music. Even if this new album isn't the danciest of them all, it still has plenty of head bobbing energy. Watching the guys play this music live, you get the full experience of the energy the music is producing. This isn't your common G C D pop Christian band. They ride the thin line between pop sensibility and completely off the wall, almost keyless melodies that somehow get stuck in your head for days. This is the key that the Beatles learned early on is that a melody can follow any path it wants and the music just has to support it, front man Jeremy Spring, has already learned this. Listen to the melody in the verse of Golden state and try and explain how that even works out, it just simply does, and it's BEAUTIFUL. I don't know any other band that can pull this off today. Note-able tracks are Heaven Come My Way, Like It or Not, Golden State, A Conversation with the Sky, and Learn. Long time followers of AK will be happy to hear a new version of Liar, which comes in strong as track 2, more alive than ever. The record might take a few extra times to really stick than some of their older albums, but trust me, there's a lot more depth to it than on first listen.

Great band, great sound! March 7, 2011
Format:MP3 Download|Amazon Verified Purchase
Just found this band only a few weeks ago from Amazon's Free Ep. Unreal sound, vision, and lyrics. Highlight tracks are Heaven Come My Way, Golden State, Wings, and Dont Forget Where You Came From. Every song has a unique feel, tempo, beat, and direction. That is what helps keep the album fresh, a rarity with bands these days. These guys are solid individuals, so supporting them to support what they desire is a no brainer for me. Excellent job guys!

Ad Astra Per Awesome! March 7, 2011
Format:MP3 Download
This band just can't miss! They are one of the most talented and most underrated bands today. Their lyrics are thought provoking and the music is well-crafted. I could listen to this album over and over and over. It's "color to my ears and music to my eyes".

I've Been Floored.
I'm going to be blunt. I dare any album to top this one for Best of Year, and I do so with contempt, BECAUSE IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

Simply put, this music will move you. Read more
