Book Description

December 2002
The Astral Grail is a non-fiction fantasy, a novelized record of astral projections. Even among astral projections, this one is special because it was guided by a ritual and an oath to make these projections into an Omega Quest.....

Open your soul. Perceive a world as real as ours but less concrete. See Gods and angels, monsters and demons. Walk in megalithic buildings of a fashion and on a scale beyond the capacities of any earthly architect or engineer. Encounter magick. Encounter, too, ordinary people who lead ordinary lives with hopes and fears very much like your own....

This quest uses the Major Arcana, the trumps of the Tarot deck. The spiritual structure used is the Tree of Life of the Qabbalah. It is a structure that will be familiar to a number of readers. each Major Arcanum is associated with one of the paths on the Tree. Both card and path are therefore associated with a number of symbols and concepts....

You cannot leave this world as you entered, but then again, why else would you enter?

About the Author

D. Jason Cooper was born in Canada in 1957, grew up in Buffalo, New York, and now lives in Perth, Western Australia with his wife, Sue, their children Shadra and Darius, and two cats, Tiger and Sarina.

His life has been blessed with adversity. It has led him to question the world and to see things others cannot. This made him develop a new numerology method (see Understanding Numerology), new bridges between the Western and Northern paths including the use of stroke in esoteric runecraft and emphasizing the importance of the aettir of the runic alphabet (see Using the Runes and Esoteric Rune Magic), the concept of classes of dreams and a new method of interpreting dreams (The Power of Dreaming), the first occultist's analysis of the Roman Mystery religion based on Mithras, which has gained academic respect (Mithras: Mysteries and Initiation Rediscovered), and the use of ritual and oath to link astral journeys into quests as described in Esoteric Rune Magic and in The Astral Grail.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not at all astral, or cabala, or tarot. Just science fiction., July 27, 2009

This review is from: The Astral Grail: A Novel Approach to Astral Projection, Tarot, and Qabbalah (Paperback)
In reality, this science fiction novel is good and you will enjoy reading it if you are an addict to the genre. But the description of the plot and the book at Amazon (taken from the back cover of the book) talks about astral projection, cabala and tarot.
The book doesn't have anything AT ALL to do with those subjects, which are not even mentioned in it.
Could this be a mistake and both the title and the back cover belongs to some other book?
In my opinion, they are probably using those themes to try and sell the book. Just as a hook. They don't seem to realize that this is fraud, that they are defrauding the readers with this totally unnecessary and stupid lie.
The book is only an entertaining and imaginative (to some extent) science fiction novel.
I can stop wandering: Why the mentionoing of astral projections, cabala and the tarot? This is crazy. They are crazy.
