I've read a lot of books on astral projection. This book is better than some but certainly doesn't rate with books authored by Robert Monroe, Robert Bruce, and William Buhlman. The chapters I thought we ok were: cosmos and psyche, physical and astral preparations, assisted projection and animals and the astral. The chapters I thought were distracting included: times and places, astral love and sex, and astral healing. This book is just that, Plain and Simple. While the book does discuss a little about separation techniques, those techniques seem to be a more ritualistic than some would feel comfortable with.

Together with Melita Denning, with whom he has written titles like Creative Money-Making and Practical Guide To Psychic Powers, Osborne Phillips is my favourite author in the Western Mystery Tradition.

In this book he explains a complete system for the art of astral projection whilst providing advanced techniques for use on the astral plane. This includes astral healing, time travel, developing psychic potential and making astral projects manifest on the earthly plane.

Astral Projection is a practical guide that tells the reader how to prepare, take the first steps on the astral, how to be safe on that level and how to return safely to the physical body. At the same time it deals with spirit guides, animals on the astral plane and how to experience great freedom and adventure with the out-of-body phenomenon.

I also recommend the author and Melita Denning's book Psychic Self-Defence And Well-Being, and the book by Norman R. Kraft, Ogdoadic Magick: Being A Year Of Study With An Aurum Solis Commandery.

This is a skinnied-down rehash of Astral Projection cowritten with Melita Denning over a decade ago. Denning was the more educated, more experienced and better magician and writer of the two, and boy can you tell! It's a flimsy book, hardly worth the price if one has any prior experience, but better than nothing for the rank beginner. I'm very surprised it's even been published

Spent a few hours reading this. Like another person said, I'm surprised it is even published. The author's writing style is annoying; his sentences and words are put together in a confusing way. His writing does not flow very nicely like other works by Monroe or Peterson. I've read several other books and this one is by far the worst. The author adds a lot of magical nonsense, perhaps from his other books on majic, and, well, nonsense. My advice, don't even bother. If you can't do his weird exercises, like see astral substance and even turn it into a ball, then you can't do other exercises that build on it. And where does he come up with ridiculous exercises like "the watcher," and the astral substance ones. I've never read these anywhere else. Every time i managed to overlook his poor writing, I found myself wanting to skip his crass exercises.
