4.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful for the beginners
The book is very "user-friendly". Brennan has many suggestions on the steps to take when attempting to project the astral body. He doesn't just cover one technique...he explores numerous "tricks" and meditation/relaxation techniques that I found very helpful. He also covers many other related topics such as lucid dreaming. Brennan does a fine...

Despite "Fr. AChDAE's" hilarious statement that this book reveals the AP techniques of the G:.D:. (which have been available for decades), and another poor soul who thinks the book is too large (?!?), this book is just another in a long line of clones. People definitely enjoy reading about it, but I wonder how many people reviewing this book can consciously project? THAT...

Brennan does a fine job of explaining what astral/etheric projection is, along with some interesting facts and history. I greatly enjoyed the book and would recommend it to projection beginners like myself!!

People definitely enjoy reading about it, but I wonder how many people reviewing this book can consciously project? THAT is the Test, and if you are serious about beginning the journey--get _Astral Dynamics_, by Robert Bruce. However, expect to _work_ for it.

After reading the Llewelyn Practical Magick series on the same subject, this book was a breah of fresh air. Smoothly written, with more information reguarding Astral Projection and it's concepts. This book is less "do this. then do that. then this.", and provides more options and techniques for projecting. This book is definately a great place to start, easing you in slowly to very complex ideas.

5.0 out of 5 stars outstanding contribution, July 2, 2008
This review is from: The Astral Projection Workbook: How To Achieve Out-Of-Body Experiences (Paperback)
Brennan's book on out-of-body experiences is without a doubt one of the best books you can buy on the subject, if your intent is to actually practice and achieve the experience. Although he does discuss the experiences of others, particularly Sylvan Muldoon and Robert Monroe, the accent throughout is for the reader to develop his own ability to project and control his projection.

Brennan clearly differentiates between etheric projection and astral projection, how they are similar and how they differ, and treats them separately. The common or likely feelings one will have, or experiences one may have, are different; Brennan tries to deal with normal fear, expectations, safety, and what is possible on the various planes. In terms of inducing projection, there are various exercises for relaxation and meditation, as well as coverage on various tricks some have tried or that have worked in a variety of cases.

For the astral plane, Brennan moves closer to various astral doorways, typically meditational devices or mandalas, including I Ching hexagrams, Tarot, the Kabbalistic Tree of Life & Sephiroth (rising on the planes as done by Dion Fortune and others), tattwas, etc. Each has its potentialities; Brennan's discussion is not meant to be a complete analysis of each.

In short, Brennan's book is not so much a general discussion as it is a series of ideas and exercises in the loosening of the astral body and the presentation of many ideas on how to bring about an enjoyable, safe, and spiritually enlightening experience. It is clear, accessible, and rich in information, ideas and inspiration. Highly recommended for the students of this topic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest book on Astral Projection for the serious Occultist, September 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Astral Projection Workbook: How To Achieve Out-Of-Body Experiences (Paperback)
For anyone seriously interested in the Occult and Magick for it's spiritual value, this book is the greatest introduction to Astral Projection, presenting not only Etheric Projection techniques, but also the Golden Dawn's own Astral Projection techniques. If you're not serious about Occultism or are just some New Age punk, you should seriously consider "Llewellyn's Practical Guide to Astral Projection" instead of this serious, intellectual and spiritual work.

Author also gives the background of some of the "famous" projectors; interesting comments about Robert Monroe's real reason for going out-of-body.

This review is from: The Astral Projection Workbook: How To Achieve Out-Of-Body Experiences (Paperback)
Astral projection (out-of-body experiences) is the most interesting and awsome subject known to man. You could leave your body by meditation. You could turn into a ghost and fly around the world, into every universe, every demintion of existance, view past and future lives, etc. Look up astral prjection on the world wide web. then buy this book. i dind't think it was very good, but you might.

You wouldn't like to have this book because it's too big. It's not like the small regular hand held books. It's like three times that size. And I don't mean it by the number of pages.
