professional set not for the novice.
I have this set which i bought from cornwell dealer 1 year ago. It has saved me several times with unaccessible fittings on equipment. I read a review where the guy said he screwed the coupler apart and could not put it back together. Why do that?? To see how it works?? To see what's in it?? Sounds like a science experiment to me. This set is made to supplement a grease...

Non standard coupler
There are 7 grease gun accessory fittings: 1. Press-on 90 degree (the right angle fitting) 2. Straight extension (no coupler) 3. 12 inch hose extension with coupler 4. Slide-on 90 degree coupler (there is a cut in the side of the coupler) (see the Thexton 418 Right Angle Grease Coupler to see what this looks like)...

I have this set which i bought from cornwell dealer 1 year ago. It has saved me several times with unaccessible fittings on equipment. I read a review where the guy said he screwed the coupler apart and could not put it back together. Why do that?? To see how it works?? To see what's in it?? Sounds like a science experiment to me. This set is made to supplement a grease gun and make fittings more accessible not for screwing withit tryig to see what the fittings have in them. I am sorry but it is senseless reviews that makes good products appear to be bad. Happy mechanicing!!!

There are 7 grease gun accessory fittings:
1. Press-on 90 degree (the right angle fitting) 2. Straight extension (no coupler) 3. 12 inch hose extension with coupler 4. Slide-on 90 degree coupler (there is a cut in the side of the coupler) (see the Thexton 418 Right Angle Grease Coupler to see what this looks like) 5. Rubber tipped nozzle (no coupler) 6. Needle nozzle (no coupler) 7. 360 coupler (the dogleg looking fitting) First, the large diameter end is a pull-down sleeve (dunno the technical term) where a 'fake' zerk fitting (grease fitting) couples to your existing grease gun coupler (these are all add-ons to the existing pipe-coupler) Second, the couplers are composed of 4 small loose 'petals' around a core with a washer and spring. If you unscrew the coupler, these all come apart and you'd have to be Houdini to get it back together (the std grease coupler is a fixed screw on-screw off unit). Third, if you think you could rectify this by simply putting a std coupler on, you'd be out of luck. The thread diameter is different. Therefore, my rating is this is not a product. Somebody had to work hard to create a non-standard, non-interchangeable solution. I bought the Lincoln set. High quality. Works. |
