As a mechanic, I use this tool almost everyday, great price, works great. Can be a little tough in tight spots, but overall an awesome tool that makes my job so much easier. I've owned this tool for about a year now with no problems.

Broke on the very first hose clamp.,
This review is from: Astro Pneumatic (AST9409A) Hose Clamp Pliers (Misc.)
I was very excited to get this tool. I wanted to love it. After countless repairs using channel lock pliers on hose clamps, I was finally ready to upgrade. I had to change the radiator on the wifes 2002 Jeep Liberty, so I took the opportunity to snag a pair of these thinking it would make the job easier. I put them up on the first clamp, the upper radiator hose, and gave it a squeeze with my right hand. The ferrule that crimps on to the end of the cable popped off before the clamp even released the hose. I don't know if this was just a manufacturing defect, or a weak crimp, but I did not even get 1 hose clamp off with this tool before it broke. I ended up doing the job with good old channel locks again. Amazon returned the tool without any problem, so I was only out the few bucks for return shipping. I did not re-order another one because after looking at it I think the crimp design is a weak point and would break again in the future. You might be able to modify it to secure it better, but for a new tool I should not have to do this. I would like to get another tool like this in the future, but will be looking for something of higher quality for sure.

Not the best for the smaller clamps,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The price was right on this one. I have a 91 Honda with approx 1/2 inch ID coolant hoses and 3/4 inch heater hose. I think this is fairly standard for many cars. These pliers have trouble getting down to that smallest size and cannot lock down at that size, as they are at their smallest setting. I got the job done but would rather have not "cheaped out". The Craftsman pliers look better, but I have not tried them.Therse work well on larger clamps, but if you have small ones, I would spent a few more dollars on a better pair.
