As a daily reader of my horoscope I've found that astrologer's predictions all fall totally short of reality. Astrology of the 13 Signs confirms why that happens: because most astrologers are using the wrong zodiac sign, the wrong planets and the wrong ascendants. The author, Vasilis Kanatas, has his feet planted firmly in the science of astronomy, as well in astrology. He explains in layman's terms how the earth has shifted over the years not only throwing off the zodiac constellations as we know them, but adding a thirteenth one as well, Ophiuchus. The book explains how to find your new Zodiac sign, ascendant and sunspots for a way more accurate horoscope; the traits of the new 13th sign and a really compelling look into the relationship between astronomy and astrology. The book lays the groundwork for understanding your new sign and also offers up the author's website [(...)] to continue to accurately follow your daily/weekly tracking. Astrology of the 13 Signs is a great read for teens to adults - not loaded with scientific jargon, but a fascinating look at the influence planets really do have over our lives!

Vasilis Kanatas has written an authoritative and scholarly book which explains how the new 13-sign astrological system works in clear, easy-to-understand terms. I bought a copy here on Amazon and after reading it, I wondered why no-one had written much on the subject before. To my mind, this is a landmark achievement, and I comment as someone with over 25 years years experience using traditional 12-sign Western astrology, with a particular interest in progressive astrology and harmonics.
It is perhaps inevitable that this book will be unfairly dismissed by those who find it difficult to assimilate new ways of thinking, especially if it involves discounting one's own long-held beliefs and practises now that much has quickly become redundant. I must say, that I felt I had no option myself but to switch to a more realistic system rather than to just plod on with the previous inaccurate and therefore unreliable one.
I spent nearly 20 years myself, trying to formulate my own 13-sign system, but I could never make it accurate enough, or bring it into alignment with the fact that the cusps all shift slightly each year.
Only someone with expertise in astronomy could have produced a system with the required level of scientific accuracy, and this lends the book a high degree of credibility.
This book had the effect of answering questions I was asking myself about 13-sign astrology for all these years, and by reading it, pieces of the puzzle suddenly fell into place - which was both enlightening and very exciting!
I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the subject. Vasilis has not only defined the new approach but has also developed it into a fully-operational system.

A fair attempt to turn an intuitive art into a rational subject. The section on Ophiuchus was interesting, although a greater focus on studying this 13th zodiac sign would have added to the text.

Astrology has always fascinated us as an ancient study, with the signs of the Zodiac shaping our lives and influencing our thoughts. Not only are we intrigued and led by our specific signs (connected to our birth date) but we are constantly aware of how our chosen traits, individuality and characteristics can alter and define our actions and ultimately mold our futures. This hand illustrated compact volume with its striking uniqueness will stand out on any bookshelf, being something quite original and fascinating. The introduction and prologue informs the reader on the science behind the planets within our galaxy and the fundamental workings of basic astrology that I found truly absorbing and insightful. Each section is spilt in accordance with the specific thirteen different signs of the zodiac, going into such depth and details as to enlighten you. Complete with in depth diagrams that are self explanatory and the most striking, eye-catching photographs of each planet this book is something to treasure and cherish. The use of diagrams and photographs, charts and comprehensive explanation bring the subject matter to life, in an enthralling way that makes for an exciting, gripping read. Unable to put this book down I was swept away by the author's accomplished, fluid writing style, which is a testament to how knowledgeable he is on such a vast subject.

This insightful read penetrates ones own feelings with such intensity and profundity as to amaze, enchant and mesmerize. Thought-provoking to the core this universal book will reach out to all kinds of reader, who enjoy something a little bit different that will make you ponder and wonder. I am most privileged to have read something of such high caliber hence I cannot enthuse enough about Vasilis Kanatas who has exceeded all expectations, surpassing initial expectations with a most remarkable book. I urge those readers who have not added this to their bookshelves to do so, as it is highly readable and most unequivocal.

Book Review: Astrology of 13 Signs of the Zodiac: An Interesting Insight About Zodiacs

Astrology is an interesting subject as far as most of the people are concerned. During my college days I read Linda Goodman's Sun Signs many a times and every time I used to extract a different kind of information about various zodiacs. Astrology of the 13 Signs of the Zodiac: Ophiuchus the New Sign of the Zodiac Circle by Vasilis Kanatas is equally interesting book that goes further into depth to throw an extra piece of light on astrology. For a very long time astrology based on sun signs talked about 12 zodiacs or 12 sun signs. Existence and significance of 13th sun sign then started emerging out lately. Astrology has been an age old concept probably popular in all countries. As per astrology, the position of various planets put a large impact on our life. Not only these sun signs influence our lives but also impacts on the things happening around us.

The time and date of birth of any person determines the personality, future and other traits of that person's life. The book talks about the science and philosophy behind the planets and their positions in that put their impact on planet earth. This book instead of talking about twelve zodiacs discloses reality about thirteen zodiacs. There are plenty of diagrams, illustrations and insights to prove the existence of thirteenth zodiac and its impact on the life of human beings.
