My astrological approach has taken a different path from the super-highways of big business. I incorporate ancient wisdom and mythology with psychological theories, art and poetry, ever seeking the mysteries of the inner self and their affects on aptitude, events, health, relationships and beliefs. The synchronistic link between the horoscope of a person and that personÂs life continually fascinates me. Writing, teaching and speaking about it is my destiny.
Consulting internationally in this field keeps me fresh and current, as does writing magazine articles, columns for two Australian news papers and the horoscope for a local "neo-alternative" monthly magazine. I am currently investigating asteroids, and other special points in the horoscope, following their relevance to health and relationships.
My credentials include 3 decades experience in the field of astrology, studying the works of such eminent teachers as Joanne Wickenburg, Dennis Elwell, Isabel Hickey, Howard Sasportas, Liz Greene and Richard Idemon. I have a background in health, working as a medical assistant, animal health technician and board certified lactation consultant for twenty years. I hold diplomas in herbal medicine, nutrition, zoology and literature.
My research over the last few years has focussed strongly on asteroid 433 Eros and I have written extensively on this and other asteroids associated with love, romance and creative passion.
I love cats, like to shoot a compound bow, read tarot cards and train at the gym. My newest pastime is playing chess with friends at a favorite little café in the Bay. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, I now live with my felines on the far east coast of Australia.

Not Enough Depth,
This review is from: Astrology and Aptitude (Paperback)
I was disappointed in "Astrology and Aptitude". I felt the author didn't go into enough depth with topics such as fixed stars, asteroids, arabic points, etc. It would have been nice to see how these components fit into the chart regarding one's career. Instead she just did a basic overview of each and moved on. Even her chart examples were lacking in detail.
If you are just starting out in astrology, this will be a good book for you, for it covers the signs and planets in regard to one's career very well. However, if like me you have gone beyond basic understanding of astrology and want something more, you will be disappointed.

Very Helpful and Well-Written,
By CN (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews

Kim Falconer is in the same league as Liz Greene and Noel Tyl for her work as an astrological writer, original thinker and compassionate counselor. "Astrology and Aptitude" is full of keen insight into the positive use of energies with which we are born. And she has a knack for explaining astrological symbolism without resorting to cookie-cutter descriptions. Includes sections on Chiron and the Nodes. Highly
recommended! CN, Washington, DC

Zappy,
By Ly de Angeles (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Astrology and Aptitude (Paperback)
I read this book when it was first released. It was so easy and comprehensive that even an Astro-ditz like me could follow the information. This book makes working with one's own potential clear and inspiring. I was able to sit down with my own natal chart and correlate sufficient associations as to make significant changes in (personally and specifically) my own line of work; work that requires self-promotion - a thing I have always had difficulty doing. I thoroughly recommend this work to anyone, Astrologer or otherwise, as it is clear and explicit. I find that I need to return to it regularly as situations arise. It is not a book to read once and discard. Way to go Kim!
