I bought this beautifully illustrated and chunky book because of the WIDE variety of information it contains. It contains definitions and goes beyond to give you an overall basic understanding of Astrology and the different aspects of it. If you are looking for a complete guide, that goes into deep detail about all of the aspects pertaining, then this is not the book you're looking for. For me, this is a great reference guide to astrology.

Here's some of what I like about this book:
I like the amount of information given for each sign. For example, you get a profile according to: Appearance, Personality, Mind, Emotions, Strengths, Weaknesses, Shadow, Karma, Likes/Dislikes, Money, As a parent/As a child, Career, Leisure, and Gift ideas. (There is a small paragraph for each subject.)

I don't follow astrology as closely now as I did when I first became interested, so this book is extremely helpful for me if I know there's a certain aspect going on, and I need to look it up quickly to get a general idea of what's going on. (like...Oh! okay, now I remember what that's about!)

Other subjects covered are:

Qualities and Polarities
The Planets
The Houses and Angles (& aspect patterns)
The Aspects
The Unfolding Chart
How to interpret a chart
Compatability Chart (what type of lover each sign is)

I think this is a great guide for anyone interested in astrology. If there is a certain area you want more information on, then there are plenty of books you can find that will explain the specifics in much more detail. To get a general overview of how it all works, this is a great book for that. It's nicely organized.

With 3 kids and a full-time job to work around, every minute saved counts! The "Bible" series has been a wonderful addition to my personal pagan library. I have other books that are more in depth that I could never live without ("The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need" for example) but the quick-find layout of these books has proven to be invaluable as well.

so insightful and easy to read. contains so many different things about each sign really is a awesome book! you'll know everything about your sign!

This is a very informative book i'm not particualy knowledgable on the subject and am not sure if there are other books that may be more informative. This is definetly a good choice for those who are just interested and maybe just curious on how to understand other people and yourself better.

Well, I couldn't resist buying this book from my local bookstore, because of its elegant size, and wonderful illustrations. It is a book of 400 pages packed in an almost pocket-sized volume, of high-quality paper and beautiful and colorful illustrations. The content of the book is well organized and each section is separated by different page colors, which is helpful when you are searching for specific information.

However, after reading this book, I really had the feeling that it is rather superficial and leaves you with more questions. It tries to cover a lot of ground, i.e.:

a. an introduction to astrology, its history, and its
division in different categories
b. zodiac signs
c. elements
d. qualities and dignities
e. planets, retrogrades, nodes
f. houses and angles
g. aspects
h. interpretation technique of the natal chart
i. transits, progressions, solar and lunar returns
j. synastry and composite charts
k. astrology and health
l. eclipses

But 400 pages is just not enough to adequately explain all these issues. It is impossible to learn about synastry and casting composite charts in only 6 pages, or about the moon's nodes in one paragraph.

So, if you really want to learn about those things in depth, this book will not give you that, but if you are a beginner and just want to have a general idea about the whole thing, then you would probably find this a pleasant read.

This is a small book (about 6" x 6") but it is packed with 400 pages of helpful, astrological information. A great reference guide packed with information!

I have been extremely interested in astrology for a long time now and I was very excited to add this book to my ever-growing library. I thought it was great and very informative :]. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in astrology. There were a lot of subjects covered in the book and the overall look of the book is great! :]

I ordered this book on October 15th and have not recieved it. The delivery date has been delayed for months!! Cancelling order.
