Amy Herring has written a great new book on the Moon which is well structured, easy to read, and full of wise and practical advice for either the novice or seasoned astrology buff. I have been studying astrology for almost 20 years and the section on the house of my progressed Moon definitely gave me some insight into an emergent major life lesson. If you don't have a book on the Moon I recommend snagging this one.
Herring's interpretations are top notch. She uses effective metaphors from a wide range of sources, including literary quotes, pop culture, and real life experience. But my favorite thing about this book is its impeccable organization. Astrologers are not always the best writers, yet Herring has done an outstanding job of laying out the material in a way which is easy to follow and gives expression to the full range of any Moon placement. I'm looking forward to seeing more books from this great new author.
The layout of the book is perfect. It allowed me to jump right to the sections which pertain to me and my current phase in life. I was completely engrossed and identified with what Amy had written. I enjoyed the conversational nature of the book, the ease of understanding which is much needed as I am new to the world of astrology. It was fun to read about my current phase, look to my most recent past phase and see where the universe and I will align in the coming months and years. It's not a crystal ball however it allowes me the ability to ask the right questions, to see my life in a different light, to bring awareness where I would otherwise gloss over. I plan on re-reading the book often as I know I will gather new insight each time.
After my self-absorbed phase was over :), I went on to read about those I hold closest in my heart to bring awareness to their current journeys as well. Lots of light bulbs going off! I am thinking this might be the perfect book to take home for Christmas with the family. It will open dialogue and understanding for my whole family.
My favorite aspect about Astrology of the Moon is the personal nature of the writing. I know the book is Amy and her heart to the core and I am so grateful she found the strength and grace to share her gift with us all.
Amy has written a well-structured and thoughtful book which can be appreciated by professional and amateur astrologers alike. She writes in a delightful way that just draws you further and further into each chapter eager to learn more, though you can just as easily dip in and out of sections if you prefer. Her use of storytelling is done in a straightforward, easily understood, manner, rather than wrapping the reader in a web of words from which they leave the book none the wiser.
I am a client of Amy's and had this book on my wish list as soon as I heard about its release. I have not been disappointed. The same thoughtful process she puts into her work with clients is evident in this book.
