Great old classic not forgotten...,

Slim book absolutely packed with useful information. The old techniques for evaluating relationships are still very accurate. Even as the culture changes, the old (and in some cases ancient) observations can be reinterpreted for modern times. For example, Robson includes a section on Ptolemy's observations of Egyptians (Age of Aries) who had sexual intercouse with their siblings (common to that culture, highly uncommon in our own). Today, this might be interpreted in the context of those involved in polyamorous relationships, or those who have more than one lover among their peers in a close-knit spiritual or social group.
The astrologer has to pick and choose a bit with this book. Barrenness/inferlity is no longer such a huge issue in Western culture because of advanced in fertility treatments, but it is still useful to study the older context. Highly recommend this book for any astrologer who wants a desk reference on relationships. I picked it up under a Venus sextile Uranus transit, and did not regret it. |
