I highly recommend it to everyone who loves the cosmos! !

It's a very good selection, and the captions - however brief - are interesting enough.

Astronomy: 365 is a wonderfully simple concept: one picture for each of the 365 nights of the year. This allows for a great variety of images, taken by all sorts of instruments from ordinary cameras to the Hubble Space Telescope, spanning broad panoramas of the night or evening sky to extreme close-ups of the Moon, galaxies and other heavenly bodies. Each image comes with a page of explanation of what can be seen and how the image was obtained.

A fascinating collection: the only criticism possible being that the book is rather small in both senses: it leaves you hungry for more pictures, which could be done more justice on larger format pages...

This book lives up to the others that preceed it. The collection of photographs are powerful, and there are 365 days of these images along with desciptions. The book is informative as well as stunning to look at. This is one for the coffee table and not the shelf.

A heavy and thick book with a great compendium of pictures shown on the Astronomical Picture of the Day website. It's a very good selection, and the captions - however brief - are interesting enough. To be read and enjoyed little by little, a few pages each day.

I purchased the book as a gift and was lucky enough to have the recipient show me what was inside. The photos are breathtaking and really amazing. I recommend this book for anyone with an interest in the stars.

I never write negative reviews, but I just had to write this one. This book is a stunning visual treat ... except for one thing. THEY LEFT OFF NEPTUNE!!! I understand that it is impossible to write about every single particle in the vast universe, but a HUGE PLANET IN OUR OWN SOLAR SYSTEM???!!!! If only they had checked to make sure all the "family members" were present before they sent it off to press. Other than that, it's a beautiful, compact-for-its-subject, treat to browse and best for children who are curious -- a great jumping off point for deeper study.

Purchased this book for a friend after we saw it at another friends house. The photographs are truly awe-inspiring! A real testament to the Great Designer of our beautiful universe. Although purchased as used, it was still in very good condition. Overall very happy with the purchase.

This is a treasure trove of inspirational eye-candy for me as an artist and for visitors who gleefully snatch it up from my coffee table to pore over the wonderful images.
