Editorial Reviews

In the gripping tradition of UNFAITHFUL and FATAL ATTRACTION, ASUNDER sizzles with passion, deception, and suspense! When Chance (Blair Underwood -- FULL FRONTAL) loses all that he cherishes in a freak accident, his grief grows into a deadly obsession that begins to rip apart the lives of his closest friends, Michael (Michael Beach -- TV's THIRD WATCH, SOUL FOOD) and Lauren (Debbie Morgan -- TV's CHARMED, PORT CHARLES, THE HURRICANE). Soon, Michael and Lauren are trapped in a living nightmare as Chance continues his descent into madness while desperately plotting to take back what was "stolen" from him! Directed by Tim Reid (ONCE UPON A TIME ... WHEN WE WERE COLORED), ASUNDER is an edge-of-your-seat thriller you don't want to miss!

5.0 out of 5 stars IT'S A MUST HAVE December 23, 2005
I love this movie and feel that I must write a review to clear up a few things in a description on a couple of other sites. The person who wrote the description says Chance is out for revenge because he blames his best friend Michael for his wife's death. This is true, but the reason given is incorrect and just stupid. It says Chance believes Michael somehow plotted to kill his wife in a freak accident. The reviewer says that Chance believed that Michael planned the scenario because Michael knows Chance had an affair with his wife, Lauren. That is not what happens in this movie. Not only is this information they're disseminating too simplistic, it's incorrect and makes a quality movie sound silly. Even Chance, as irrational as he gets, doesn't make this dumb accusation (especially since Roberta is the one whom dictates the circumstances in the situation). He blames Michael simply because he can, and it is easier then blaming himself. It makes me wonder did the person writing the description for these sites really watch the movie. I don't know why they didn't do what Amazon has done and just use the synopsis on the back of the DVD. Nice job Amazon! You just give the pertinent statistics and back cover synopsis and let people decide for themselves, and they should decide to buy this movie.

To begin, this movie is so engrossing. I initially only saw the last 30 minutes or so, and I had to make sure that the next time it came on cable my husband and I would watch it. It was better and much more complicated than I thought. This movie is everything the description on the back of the DVD builds it up to be. Michael Beach, Debbi Morgan, and Blair Underwood are all extraordinary actors and Tim Reid is an extraordinary director. So I really shouldn't have expected anything less.

5.0 out of 5 stars Movie deserved more than it received November 11, 2003
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I remember receiving an email when the movie was to be released. However, it didn't receive any support and I don't think it was even in the theaters longer than a week. How unfortunate. This movie was excellent. Just goes to show how the media down plays black actors, writers and producers. If you can sit and watch "28 Days Later" (which is an absolute mess of a movie) shame on you for not supporting this suspenseful drama. This movie shall become a part of my personal collection. THE BOMBDIGITY FOR SURE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Movie January 20, 2004
I went to the premier of this movie. I know the owner of the production company and was invited to go. I have seen this movie 3x. It is excellent and I have even bought the DVD. I absolutely love this version of the black Fatal Attraction. Blair Underwood was outstanding in his part. I highly recommend buying this for your DVD collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can you say Obsessed? July 15, 2004
Can you say obsession? Blair Underwood plays a character named chance, who takes chances and becomes obsessed with his best friends wife after the tragic death of his wife and unborn child. Instead of mourning his late wife he resorts to stalking his best friends wife. For a while you have to wonder....did he really love his late wife. Watching chance go through his emotions, you feel sorry for him, then you get angry at him, then you start to truly hate him. So your own emotions go for a serious ride while watching this film. This movie is a modern Fatal Attraction. You will be riveted to your seat until the credits roll at the end of the film. There are some twists, and turns that will make you gasp!!! It's a movie you have to see!!! Good Cast, and Blair really showed his versatility in this film. Go Blair!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You Think March 7, 2003
By A Customer
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This movie is a combination of both of these! All the actors do an excellent job, but Blair Underwood does a superb one! This movie is basically about two couples that are very close - they do alot of things together. On one occassion they go to the state fair together and Blair Underwood character's wife, along with their unborn child dies, and this leads him to try to break up his best friend's marriage. ... I can't believe this was never shown at movie theatres - it think it deserves an award! When you think Blair Underwood's character has done something crazy, he tops it over & over again until the ending credits. ...Try it - you'll love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Unintentional Comedy April 18, 2006
If you can get past Blair Underwood hamming it up every chance you can get this film is a decent flick to watch when you can't catch your z's. However, I think I liked this film for all the wrong reasons. Number one the stalker's death scene was hilarious. It took him about ten years to fall to the ground and the blood bag that was evident as he was getting riddled with bullets made the film laughable as well. Number two, I didn't know that the more crazed a killer got the more eye liner he wore. All in all, this film was atleast watchable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Movie !! June 14, 2006
I was introduced to this movie at an all girls party that I attended one night. Never got into the movie because of all the chit chatting and partying...anyways I decided to purchase the movie and was pleasantly surprised. Can you say "Fatal Attraction" to the 10th power? This movie should wake up all the married couples out there fooling around. I don't want to give all the movie away but this is definately a must see. Great movie, Great Actors and acting.
