The first motherboard supporting 802.11g AP functions, the Asus A8V Deluxe is the ideal networking platform for SOHO and homes. Supporting WiFi@HOME, a unique feature found only in Asus solutions, users can easily establish an 802.11g wireless LAN through a user-friendly, one-touch set up wizard. Also incorporating industry-leading specifications for CPU, memory, system bus, Gigabit LAN and Dual RAID, the A8V Deluxe is excellent for home-server applications.

This motherboard supports AMD 939-pin Athlon 64 FX/ Athlon 64 processors with 1MB/512KB L2 cache which is based on 64-bit architecture. It features 2000 MT/s HyperTransport Bus, dual-channel un-buffered DDR400 memory support and AMD Cool 'n' Quiet! technology, which monitors system operation and automatically adjusts CPU voltage and frequency for a cool and quiet environment.

The VIA K8T800Pro chipset incorporated two Serial ATA connectors with RAID 0 (striping), RAID 1 (mirroring), and JBOD (spanning) functions while the Promise 20378 controller provides another two Serial ATA and two UltraATA133 connectors for RAID 0 (striping), RAID 1 (mirroring), RAID 0+1, and multiple RAID functions.

An IEEE 1394 interface provides high speed digital interface for audio/video appliances such as digital television, digital video camcorders, storage peripherals, and other PC portable devices.

The AI Series supports Gigabit LAN by integrating the Marvell controller, equipped with a unique net-diagnosing utility- VCT (Virtual Cable Tester). The controller intelligently detects net connection status up to 100 meters from a remote location and reports the distance of bad cable.

A8V Deluxe supports eight channels of audio output. AI Audio automatically detects and identifies what types of peripherals are plugged into the audio I/O jacks and notifies users of inappropriate connection. There are also three Universal Audio Jack (UAJ), which eliminates cable connection errors and confusion among Line-in, Line-out and Mic jacks. With the bundled WinDVD Platinum 5, A8V Deluxe supports 7.1-channel output, making your movie-watching experience truly a blast.

A unique option in BIOS that enables quick overclocking up to 30 percent (depends on CPU and RAM). It automatically detects and optimizes every relevant parameter to provide both performance and stability. The BIOS in AI Series also keeps all the special design for overclocking: Flexible CPU Core Voltage Adjustments in 0.025V increments over defaults, SFS (Stepless Frequency Selection) up to 400MHz at 1MHz increanerts, and Asus C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall).

Whenever BIOS gets corrupted, Asus CrashFree BIOS 2 allows users to reboot the computer and perform an smart auto-recovery procedure through the motherboard support CD. A unique technology called Q-Fan 2 intelligently and automatically adjusts CPU/Chassis fan speeds according to system load and temperature, enabling users to work in a distraction-free environment.

This motherboard provides convenient connectivity to external home theater audio systems via an optical or coaxial S/PDIF-out jack. It allows to transfer digital audio without converting to analog format and keeps the best signal quality.
