ASUS today announced GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II, a graphics card powered by the new GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics-processing unit (GPU) and fitted with exclusive DirectCU II technology for cooler, quieter and faster performance. The GeForce GTX 780 Ti GPU is powered by 25% more CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) cores and benefits from a boosted clock speed of 1020 MHz - both significant increases on its predecessor that enable ASUS GTX 780 Ti to deliver astonishing gaming performance. With exclusive ASUS DirectCU II on board, GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II runs up to 20% cooler, three times (3X) quieter and 6% faster than reference cards.

Just upgraded to this card from an AMD 7990 HD 6gb dual card... I didn't really believe a single 780ti could put the hurt down on games like the 7990 could. I was way wrong, it not only performs on par frame for frame with the dual 3gb 7970's in CF but it performs on average 20c cooler under load while putting up higher benchmarks than the 7990 could even manage.
Pros: 1. Any Phyx enabled game will look better than you ever imagined even without dedicating a GPU to it. (Phyx is not a gimmack as some reviews led me to believe about switching to Nvidia.)
2. Runs extremely cool compared to my 7990 and my old 650ti boost setup, average load temps between 60-75c on even the hottest of new titles running max settings at 1920, 5760x1080p.
3. Power consumption, I can easily run two of these in sli and draw less power than my beast of a 7990.
Cons:
1. Any gamer will tell you they hate the cost. However it is the price we pay to stay on top of the game.

I bought 2 of these to replace 2 XFX 290 cards. I have been pleasantly surprised with the purchase and consider it well worth the upgrade cost. I had a bad experiences with overheating, graphic glitches and really bad drivers while using the ATI cards. I went with this card from Asus for several reasons.
First this not a reference design card. That means that Asus was able to take some liberties with the layout of the PCB and upgrade components on it to make it better. This card has upgraded capacitors and voltage regulation which allows it to provide better power to the card, running cooler and lasting longer than cards built on the reference design. It is also the fastest single graphics card on the planet at the time of this writing. They have done a great job with this card.
These cards run cooler than most of the other options. That was a big concern for me as I don't have a giant case with 20 fans in it. I needed something that would stay cool on its own and not require a bunch of extra time and money. I had to take my 290 cards apart and redo the horrible application of thermal paste to keep them at sane temperatures. That is something I haven't even thought about doing on the Asus cards. They just run cool, from the factory. This provides some extra headroom to overclock them if you would like. They overclock well and can be pushed over 1100 on the clockspeed. DirectCU II has two cooling fans, four heat pipes a PCB backplate that all help remove heat from the card. Bravo Asus!
They are quiet! Very quiet when compared to the AMD R9 290. The Asus can move a good amount of air and still manage to be relatively silent. Here are my teps doing different tasks.Read more ›

No B.S. here people. Even i was skeptical on single cards running games like its on SLI. Man this card delivers. I'm very very picky and tend to always go SLI route to get guaranteed 60+ fps, but with this card, I get more.
Thief, Battlefield 4, Splinter Cell Blacklist, FF Realm Reborn etc. ALL running 1080p ultra everything. Clocking in at 75-144 fps (my monitor is 144hz).
Best single card I have ever owned, and very sexy!

I have an old 2009 PC that I needed a new graphics card for. My original ATI 5970 wasn't working right anymore, so I thought to try the ASUS GTX780Ti. I have an 850 Wat power supply in that old machine, but the pinout for my power supply was the old 6-pin 3by2 PCI connector. This new card requires two 8-pin PCI-E connectors, however. After some research I found on Amazon a "StarTech PCI Express 6 pin to 8 pin Power Adapter Cable (PCIEX68ADAP)"
I got it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TK3TJY
The ASUS card only came with 1 8-pin adapter. I needed a second one to make it work with my PC's power supply. A few days later everything is here. I plug it all in... and... wow... it works! Then I spent the next hour or so configuring a 6048x1200 Surround display and 3D and updating drivers and...
...my big mistake: I updated the 780Ti's internal GPU BIOS <--- DO NOT DO THIS! (you can stop the auto-prompt by changing your Nvidia settings) That update bricked the 1st card.
After that the card would only cause my computer to emit 6 beeps. He's dead, Jim. So I get on the Amazon site and request a return, reason: defective after BIOS update of card. now PC beeps 6 times. That was last Saturday.
Monday a replacement card arrived - and it is working perfect so far. I will not update the BIOS this time. Perhaps that made the card incompatible with my old PC. I don't know.
This is a really amazing graphics card. My whole PC feels totally smooth and like new again. Also, I'm running 3 displays with bezel correction at resolution 6048x1200 and auto-3D for the games. Skyrim on Ultimate settings with ~300 mods. some others I tried: Bioshock, 2 Batman, and Tomb-Raider.
They are all amazing. I'm quite happy with my replacement card. Thank you Amazon and ASUS!

I got this to replace an old Radeon HD card that just wasn't cutting it anymore between the jet engine noise and buggy drivers. I did a bunch of research and decided to take the plunge. If you are into graphically intensive games or work, this is the card. It should last quite some time (years) before being out of date or struggling to keep up with new games, so the price is worth it. The utilities that come with it from Asus are very easy to use - as expected. I was just a little disappointed that there were no 'bells and whistles' in terms of a UI for game discovery and optimization. That is probably the one thing I really did like that ATI/AMD has.
Pros: Exceptionally fast VERY quiet even at max settings - at least compared to Radeon. I have not noticed anything above my normal background fan noise. Seems to run at pretty low temperature compared to the competition Simple and effective tools for over-clocking and monitoring. Excellent brand reputation - quality and dependable products (I own lots of their components and stuff. You can't go wrong with Asus.) Easy installation
Cons: No game specific optimization or UI
Warnings/Notes: This card is HUGE!! You can get size specs from the Asus site or in the Amazon description. You definitely need to check your case to make sure it will fit. I double checked before I purchased and knew I had to move at least one of my hard drives to install it, so I wasn't surprised. My move was pretty painless, but definitely something you need to consider before you get this card.
Summary: If you are into games and can afford it, you need to get this. It should last for a while and justify the cash. Just plan ahead to make sure it will fit in your case. I LOVE this card!
