Warning for KVM users,
By
This review is from: Asus M4A78-E Socket AM2+/ AMD 790GX/ Hybrid CrossFireX/ HDMI/ A&V&GbE/ ATX Motherboard (Personal Computers)
The latest generation of Asus Motherboards have created a horrible compatibility problem for users of KVMs (box to share Keyboard, Video, Mouse between more than one computer) because they only provide a single PS/2 kbd input connector and fail to provide PS/2 mouse input connector. Most KVM's use PS/2 mouse and PS/2 kbd inputs to allow the sharing of KVM with more than a single computer. I have tried various USB-PS/2 mouse and kbd adapters and they do not work with these Asus Motherboards. It's a very dumb design decision. If you have USB mice and keyboards -they will always work just fine with motherboards that have dedicated PS/2 inputs, but if there is only a single PS/2 connector than your KVM will not work except for either the Kbd or the Mouse.
Other manufacturers Gigabyte or MSI have not created such a compatibility problem -so they will get all of my business. If you don't use a KVM or have a new model that allows USB sharing -you can disregard this warning -you will not experience any problems.
