Hi,

I have two HP i7 920 based systems. Both use this motherboard.

Both systems work well. There were BIOS issues resolved in Oct 2009 that caused random lock-ups. Suggest you see the HP PC support site, search for
Motherboard Specifications, IPMTB-TK (Truckee)
and read the HP forums for the HP Pavilion Elite m9600t CTO Desktop PC. Since I download the BIOS from HP I didn't check ASUS/Pegatron to see if they have an equivalent bios upgrade.

This board is a POS. I guess mine lasted longer than most peoples did, probably because I am religious about keeping the inside of my case dust free. I bought the HP e9280f Pavillion Elite quite a few years ago. This was the first as-is desktop that I ever bought, as I started out building all of the computers for my company. The benefit of building your own is that you are not always thinking bottom line like the Big Boys are, so you can pick and choose components. The first time I opened the case on this computer I was flabbergasted. Once I found out how hot the i7 processor ran I figured I was in for trouble. HP tried to jam too much stuff into too small of a case, and used a cheap, small, poorly made MOBO to build this system. The PSU is also too small for any add ons.

I just bought an ASUS P6T a corsair ATX case, a good 750W PSU and a couple of fans to keep everything cool.

This is a very poorly designed board for what they are expecting it to do. Very tiny traces, poor assembly. Contamination.

HP should know by now that you cannot go below a certain level of quality and survive. I like HP, but this time they should not have listened to the bean counters.

I bought an HP Pavillion Elite m9600t using this motherboard in May of 2009. It has not worked properly. Blue screens are common and it is now completely locked up. The Pegatron IPMTB-TK motherboard is apparently the problem. Lots of comments on the web about this motherboard. Now HP will not fix because the machine is out of warranty. It should be recalled. Waited an hour to get HP and the service representative tried to explain that I should expect these problems from the computer.

I also had big problems with this board and HP won't do anything about it. It was on their HP Pavillion machine from 2009.
