The MyPal incorporates the latest SiRF Star III GPS chipset and a 1-by-1-inch GPS patch antenna to ensure a topnotch digital satellite reception. As a result, it's quick and easy to locate your precise position on scavenger hunts or find a friend's house in a neighboring town. Simply determine your destination via the versatile touchscreen display and the MyPal guides you there via dynamic 3D maps. As an added bonus, the 3.5-inch color LCD screen can be configured either vertically or horizontally, so you can either see what's coming far down the road (vertical) or enjoy a wide-angle view of the surrounding countryside (horizontal).

The MyPal A636 also provides complete Pocket PC features, with a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and versions of Pocket Excel, Pocket Word, and Internet Explorer, along with complete PC synchronization functions via built-in WiFi or Bluetooth technologies. Now you can work on projects while at the airport or on the bus without hauling along a full-size laptop. The sync option also makes it easy to coordinate appointments, contacts, and other info between your desktop/laptop and MyPal, so you won't miss any important meetings or phone calls while on the road. The device even includes built-in Windows Media Player 10, with full support for full-screen movie, image slide show, and music playback.

Another nice function is the MyPal's special screen lock design, which prevents you from accidentally activating the features while carrying the device in a purse or backpack. The locking function extends to the entire keypad as well, so you don't waste precious battery life on long road trips.

Technical details range from a speedy 416 MHz Intel XScale processor to 128 MB of built-in flash ROM and 64 MB of SDRAM. And to ensure the most versatile power options, the unit's lithium-ion battery can be recharged in either the car or at home (includes cables for both).

Additional features include a car kit (with gooseneck holder), a high-quality speaker that delivers heart-thumping sound, a 256 MB Secure Digital (SD) card, and a protective case. I've got one in april 2006, and I can tell you it's all I have ever dreamed. It works perfect with the navigation software, and Skype is perfect for it.
