4.0 out of 5 stars good,but not the best June 26, 2005
A Kid's Review
Format:Audio CD
this was a good holds some of the greatest songs ever written in the 80s like "Tears Are Falling","Anyway You Slice It","King of the Mountain" and "I'm Alive".Although songs like "Radar for Love" were a disapointment.

But I dont really know why people put this album of the greatest Kiss lineups started here.Bruce Kulice is one of the best guitarests to ever play with Kiss.Hiss solo for "Tears Are Falling" will prove that to you.And all in all, this may not be their best, but its a must-have!

4.0 out of 5 stars asylum March 26, 2006
Format:Audio CD
This was a great album. I liked Bruce's sound on this album. The songs are strong and can be listened to front to back. I know a lot of people bashed this album, but a lot of people just think "80's, so it must suck". Most people don't know how to think when expressing opinions. Kiss evolved throughout the decades. This album reflects that. What you have here is simply a solid album with well thought out songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars C'mon Now.... March 13, 2000
Format:Audio CD
The 80s' were a tough time for Kiss, what with losing Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, and the desperate struggle of Gene and Paul to stay with the times and not fade out like so many other bands have. But Kiss proved their staying power and on this record, their musical ability as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars The 2nd best Kiss Album of the 80's January 28, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This is the first Kiss album I ever bought. This is the 2nd best Kiss album of the 80's (the first being Creatures of the Night). I love the songs Tears are Falling and Who wants to be Lonely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good work September 26, 2002
By MR77100
Format:Audio CD
ASYLUM featured KISS' most stable lineup since 1979, when the band had all 4 original members. Bruce Kulick's guitar shows off some great riffs, and Eric Carr's drumming is top notch. Simmon's worked less on this album then Stanely, since he was busy with acting in Hollywood, but his "Any Way You Slice It" is a catchy tune, as is "Trial By Fire," my favorite track on the album. Paul Stanley's "King of The Mountain kicks the album off good, and his vocals soar. "Who Wants To Be Lonely" is a clunky number, but not bad. The wild "I'm Alive keeps things fast-paced in the middle of the album, before you get to "Tears Are Falling, " a mid-paced ballad that has a really flashy video to boot. The closing track, "Uh! All Night," is terrible, but hilarious! The video is even funnier! This album has some filler, but overall is worth the buy for an 80's metal fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kiss's best?? April 10, 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I know this may not be popular with '70s KISS fans, but this album totally rocks, and may as well rank as the band's best. 10 solid rockers with just a little bit of '80s pop in the choruses. The drumming is great, and the guitar is! The solo in King of the Mountain is incredible, with excellent VH tapping technique by Mr. Kulick, then to become Kiss's top guitarist EVER (sorry Ace fans). Great guitar all over the CD Highly recommended-for more pop Kiss I'd rather look at Crazy Nights though...

4.0 out of 5 stars Asylum will drive you nuts! August 17, 2005
By Bela
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Asylum is a much better album as a whole than the

Anamalize album. Gene $immons songs are much stronger

and Paul Stanley always has 2 or more classic on

every album. The production was better also. The

tour was better. They seemed to gel better with Eric

and Bruce and seem to finally becoming a KISS band

since Vinnie Vincent left. I've never been a big

fan of Bruce's guitar style but he fit in perfectly

in that situation. Songs like King of the MOuntain,

Tears are Falling, Anyway you slice it and Secretly

Cruel rock! Of all the 80's albums, I think this is

one of the best of them! highly recommdended.****
