5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant., April 20, 2000

The Galactic Cowboys are probably the best band no-one has ever heard of. Ok, some people know about them, but not nearly as many as a band this great deserves. AT THE END OF THE DAY is an instant classic, not sounding like any one specific sub-genre of METAL or POP or ROCK. Their ability to blend Rock, Metal, and Pop so effortlessly just showcases how brilliant the Galactic Cowboys are. From near Thrash-Metal tunes (with melody and hooks, though), to nice, catchy pop flavored Rock, AT THE END OF THE DAY covers it all. The amazing thing is how cohesive the album is - it all fits together perfectly! Sometimes in the same song! With so many great songs, I won't even attempt to single them out. I'll just leave it at this; Power, melody, musicianship. Shame on you if you don't at least try it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic album from a band that deserved more, October 10, 2004

The second-to-last album by Galactic Cowboys is one of their best, and in my opinion would've made a more fitting final album than "Let It Go". A good, consistent album, and the last to feature Alan Doss on drums (it also contains his sole lead-vocal performance, "Through", which is pretty good!). Along with the group's second album, "Space In Your Face", I consider this to be the pinnacle of Galactic Cowboys' work. Had the band been given more promotion or attention, who knows how far they could've gone. Truly an untapped talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is there anything more?, January 28, 2000
This review is from: At the End of the Day (Audio CD)
This group of Galactic Cowboys has dug through the trenches of the music industry for most of their career. But, don't be fooled by an apparent lack of sales compared to the rest of 'popular music'-- This group is one of the most underappreciated groups of the 1990's, but is resurging in 2000(all of the fans know this) Everything about the music on this album is fully "HOOK HEAVY"--if you want real music with soul, integrity, simple in-your-face massive riffs, plenty of singability and most importantly HONESTY. "The Machine Fish Suite" is something that will be remembered as a true heavy masterpiece. Please do yourself a favor and buy this album. In fact, go buy all of the Galactic Cowboy's albums and see what you're missing.

The Cowboys have unshelled another great album. The inclusion of "The machine fish suite" makes this album even better.Monty's lead vocal on the beatles-esqe "Ants"is great as well as Alan's "Through".And as always, Ben shines through every song. And Wally Farkas has quickly become one of my favorite guitar players. The different tones and sounds he creates make GC albums more enjoyable and interesting. I saw them on the tour for this album twice. Both times they were completely awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars just plain awesome!, May 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: At the End of the Day (Audio CD)
This is the best cd to come out in the latter part of the 90's. It has something for everyone, without leaving everyone else behind. It is heavy, melodic, rocky, bluesy, and just plain tasty. I dare you to listen to it twice without singing along at the top of your lungs. It is sure to satisfy anyone who likes any form of rock and roll, especially the Beatles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Album from GC, September 18, 2009

This review is from: At the End of the Day (Audio CD)
I'm only sorry that I didn't buy this album earlier... like when it came out! I've been a big fan of Galactic Cowboys for a long time, but when they started going off the radar in the late 90s, I had no idea that they had done this album. Flash forward to 2009... I was one of the lucky folks who caught GC on their reunion tour of Texas. They played several songs off this album during the set and I was floored! I thought, "How did I miss THESE songs?" So, the next day I logged on to Amazon and bought it quick! It's been stuck in my truck's CD player for weeks.

The Bad? This album made me kinda sad that this band has NEVER gotten the recognition it deserves. Even as the guys were literally headed towards "the end of the day" (there was only one more album after this... and when it was released, the band had already broken up), they were making GREAT music together. Some songs are powerful, some are quirky, all of them rock!

Complete your Galactic Cowboys catalog and pick up "At The End Of The Day".

Top Tracks: "Nothing To Say", "Ranch On Mars pt. 2 (Set Me Free)", "Ants"

Great rockers that sound inspired by the likes of King's X and Cheap Trick. Heavy riffs with great singing. The great thing about this group is you can find their cds at bargain basement prices. I know pebozo will appreciate this because he's the cheapest heap of Sanford and Son junk in this hemisphere.

I love this band. I have since the debut album. They will be sorely missed. This album is one of their best, along with Space In Your Face. To me, they've always sounded like what would happen if Metallica, Pantera, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles got together and jammed at a Monty Python convention. True, that's not exactly "commercially viable," but they never have been. And if you're looking for something that's NOT going to challenge your ears to accept contrasting sonic textures and styles, this is NOT the band to listen to. The fact that they can do that, and pull it off, AND write amazing songs ... is a testimony to their brilliance. Buy all their albums!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST ROCK BAND IN THE U.S., April 3, 1999
By
Brad Farha (West Virginia) - See all my reviews

For those of you who still have not heard the best that rock has to offer....hellOOOO....are you paying attention???? This band has no real equal. Sure, King's X is great - but they have a propensity to produce 2-4 duds on each album and I can honestly say that after 5 lps and an ep, there are no more than a couple weak songs on all the material GALACTIC COWBOYS has put out. I have never seen another rock band in 30 years of listening that I can make that assertion about. If you don't like this album, you do not appreciate art in music. - Brad Farha

5.0 out of 5 stars best since debut, February 19, 1999
This review is from: At the End of the Day (Audio CD)
this cd simply put is the best since their debut in 1991! what an incredible mix, rock and faith in god!! christians do rock!! GC is only one example. the title track has lead vocals by Alan Doss, this is a first and probably the last as the band has a new drummer. I love the creativity of this cd,music and art. the paintings are by Monty Colvin the bass player and founding member of the band.
