As a speech therapist I really love this product. Not only is it a great therapeutic tool, but it's a great product for parents! The shape of the mat encourages quality interactions with your child, and the adorable images on the cards will help to keep children motivated and engaged. I would recommend this product to the parents of any young child. The theme based cards will help to organize your play time, and the tote makes storage and clean up easy! This mat and the accompanying cards can be used to enhance your child's language development. Using this product to engage your child in productive structured play can increase vocabulary, improve following directions, help your child to engage in conversation, and improve overall play skills. This is truly a great way to play with your children!!!

I got this for my son who has a language delay...
I think i wouldnt pay more than 40 bucks for this and i paid a whole lot more for it on amazon.. i feel like sendin it back but my son does love the 'flashcards' which btw bend very easily kinda flimsy... also, the 'u shaped thing' doenst 'do' anything, u (or child in my case) slide the 'cards' into plastic sections, the thing is made of 'thin cloth' and it doesnt talk or anything.. please dont spend over 40$ on this item i cannot return it cus my son has bent up alot of the cards already, so 'buyer beware' idk who was 'paid' 2 write those other reviews .. it is a good product , but waaayyyy too overpriced, i think, just for alot of 'flashcards' and also, they 'repeat' alot like there r 3 or 4 birds 'the same' ones in a pac or 3 monkeys that r the same, so u know idk.. maybe im missin somethin? i think i coulda made a lot better flash cards for my son for the price i paid for this thing...just sayin.. go 2 walmart or make em urself... u can get a NICE laminator machine for the price amazon charged for this crap!! maybe i should go back and give it 1 star .. dissappointed...

This item is even better than I thought it was going to be. My son who has a speech delay because of hearing loss has fallen in love with this game along with the whole family. Being that he is 3 yrs old his attention span is very short but when I bring this out and set it up he comes and sits down and is ready to go. I love that I'm able to sit down with my son and watch him talk and point to things that I never thought he knew. Love Love this item!!!!!

This is a really terrific product. I use it with my son, who is two years old and has speech delay. The exercises are really fun and easy to do. It is a meaningful and fabulous way to bond with a young child - - and learn at the same time. This is really brilliant. I highly recommend the U-Play Mat!

This is a wonderful interactive educational product for children and parents. My 4 girls ranging in age from 2 to 5 all love it and can engage them at age-appropriate levels. A truly helpful and fun well designed and executed toy that has a lot to offer, and kids will really enjoy learning while playing!

I was amazed by this product! We purchased the U-Play mat and cards for my son's birthday (he turned 4 two weeks ago). He is nonverbal, has autism and significant delays in all areas of functioning. When I set the mat out for the first time, my son came to me and took the first picture card out of my hand. He placed it into a pocket and wanted another card. He filled all 15 slots so I decided to see how he would do with matching. He matched all 15 cards, with 3 mistakes. I was ecstatic. The second time, he got 100% with matching. My son cannot match a field of 3 during therapy at his school. (I have taken the mat to school to show his teacher and therapists and they asked me to bring it to school everyday so they can use it with him also). He looks around the mat, which as the designer states encourages exploring his environment. We used the animal deck for several days then decided to try some of the other decks. He can match all the decks with very few mistakes. I need to video him, it is amazing! I could write so much more on my satisfaction with this product. I recommend it to all my friends who have children with special needs. However, I do have some complaints. The pockets were crinkled when we opened it b/c of being folded. This bothered my son and he focused on the crinkles at first, kept pushing on the pockets trying to straighten it out. Thankfully, this only bothered him the first time he used the mat. The pockets could be stronger. He ripped one of the pockets within the first few days. My son was ok with putting the second picture on top of the pockets for a few days. Then he decided, on his own, that the second picture needed to go into the pocket. He wants the second picture to go on top of the first picture so that he can watch the first picture disappear. He has some OCD tendencies so he gets frustrated when he cannot get the second picture to go on top (but the matching skills have greatly improved). I wish the pockets wouldn't crinkle and were made a little sturdier to prevent rips. With that being said, I love this product! My son gets the mat out of the bag, gets a deck of cards and will come find me to let me know he wants to play this way!!!

My 3 year old son was recently diagnosed with mixed receptive/expressive language disorder. I ordered this mat as a way to work on his therapy at home. I took it out today for the first time, and my son (who has a very difficult time following directions) immediately sat in the middle of the mat without me even asking. There must be something special about the shape that invites them to have a seat and pay attention! He sat and watched while I put the animal cards in the pockets, and became very engaged in naming the animals one by one (with little hints from me). The instructions are simple to follow and the cards are colorful and easy to identify. We played the "Where is the (fill in an animal)" game, and the "What animal is this?" game. Tomorrow I will try some matching and see how good his memory is. I would definitely recommend it to other parents who want to do some speech practice at home.
