This review is from: At Journey's End: The Complete Guide to Funerals and Funeral Planning (Paperback)
At Journey's End: A Complete Guide To Funerals And Funeral Planning is an invaluable guide, reference and resource for planning one's own funeral and/or the funeral of a loved one. Of special note is the "100 Things to Do For Peace of Mind" checklist that covers pre-planning points, as well as all of the things necessary and needful at the time of death of a loved one, including after the funeral service itself. At Journey's End also offers informative and reliable information on autopsies, clergy honoraria, collecting paperwork, disposition of flowers, even little known or misunderstood facts concerning foreign burials, religious traditions, famous funerals, historical tombs, and even macabre incidences of live burials. At Journey's End is an essential, highly recommended addition to community library and senior center consumer advice reference book collections.

Funeral book,
This review is from: At Journey's End: The Complete Guide to Funerals and Funeral Planning (Paperback)
This book supplied a lot of information in relation to funeral planning, however a lot seem to be outdated and the book could use a fresh set of resources. That said, what was containted in the book was good.It contains some estate planning documents which are also useful, however I would be worried to use these as I fear they might be out of date! An update of this book would be well welcomed!

This review is from: At Journey's End: The Complete Guide to Funerals and Funeral Planning (Paperback)
As a thanatologist, funeral celebrant and grief counselor, I've read many books on the subjects of dying, death, bereavement, and life celebrations. This one ranks up there with the very best of them. Dr. Fattah has added to his already thorough approach to these subjects, new materials with this edition. He relates the information necessary in understanding these subjects and also provides an excellent review of how various religions approach dying, death and bereavement. The last chapters give the reader very good readings and tools to fashion a celebration of a loved one's life.
If you are in any of the fields I've mentioned, this book will be well worth the money you spend on it. |
