5.0 out of 5 stars Dick Gregory's Prolific Writing, December 15, 2002

This review is from: At Kent State (Audio CD)
I purchase years ago this album. I thought it convey the feelings and insight of what America was during the volatile "70's." I am glad to be able to repurchase this product because I want to reconnect with the messages that Dick Gregory stated about the "State of the United States 70's Political Upheavel." Dick Gregory is a political activist and prolific writer conveyed that as citizens of the United States we have a responsibilty to work for the betterment of our society. But if the society is not working for its citizen, we still have the responsibility to make positive changes for the United States.

4.0 out of 5 stars A powerful comedic performance from the Vietnam Era, August 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: At Kent State (Audio CD)
Recorded only a year after the Kent State tragedy, Dick Gregory delivers a searing performance that allows comedy underlie a powerful attack on the racist underbelly in the US. With a light start, Gregory is able to make the audience feel comfortable. Then slowly, deliberately, he begins a tirade against the sort of evil that made Kent State such a marked institution.
