A CLASSIC,

Lou Rawls is in a class by himself. Blues, jazz, soul, and a classic 40's feel all come naturally in his music. Beautiful deep voice with lots of class and style. I'm really enjoying this CD.

Best album I have,
This review is from: At Last (Audio CD)
I got this as a cassette when I was 15 and I darn nearly wore it out! Lou uses the classical style of R&B on this album, lots of piano and brass music. I even insisted on some of the tunes at my wedding. It's probably the best album I have in my collection (I've since re-bought it on cd and downloaded it onto my ipod).

I like to listen to this cd when I'm relaxing or even when I'm trying to do work. You can listen to it when you get up in the morning and the upbeat "Fine Brown Frame" will set you in a good mood for the rest of the day! I think all of the songs are great. They have nice piano accompaniments. It's one of those cds you can listen to and you're busy singing along and suddenly you've listened to the whole thing! You can also cuddle up in a chair and read a book while listening to this cd. This cd is the best cd I've ever had!

Lou's triumphant return to his blues and jazz roots.,

This review is from: At Last (Audio CD)
After leaving Philadelphia International, Lou signed with the revived Blue Note label and this 1989 release was his triumphant return to his blues and jazz roots. Not a perfect album but one in which Lou's strenghths as a jazz and blues singer are demonstrated perfectly in most songs.
