I've always been a huge fan of Earl Hines. He's one of the most important jazz pianists ever and this disc puts his talents on display. This show was recorded in the 70's and it just moves. Your feet will be kicking you to get up and dance!

There I was in the music store just looking through some CDs andthen I heard "Coquette" playing over the PA system - a song I hadn't heard in ages! I stood there tapping my foot and shaking my head and shoulders with the beat of the music. I had to hurry over to the desk to ask who was playing...and they told me Earl "Fatha" Hines. Next song up was "Poor Butterfly"... I had to buy it on the spot. Love it! |
