Book Description

June 9, 2006
:At Wit's End is a simple, straightforward, and easy-to-read summary about Alzheimer's as a disease and condition, written without technical jargon or impractical detail. Many books delve into other areas of Alzheimer's, emphasizing the financial, legal, and treatment needs of the afflicted. At Wit's End is unique because it not only explains the psychiatric and psychological aspects of Alzheimer's, but it also helps family members and caregivers discover a wealth of effective interventions. Kraus focuses on the whole person and his/her social, psychological, physical, and spiritual life. In this book, find out how Alzheimer's can be distinguished from normal aging and other diseases that mimic its symptoms, including the wide array of associated behaviors. Also, find out what medical treatments are available, both traditional and alternative. At Wit's End gives families and caregivers a new outlook on Alzheimer's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Informative Plain Talk, November 9, 2006
This review is from: At Wit's End: Plain Talk on Alzheimer's for Families and Clinicians (Hardcover)
At Wit's End truly helped our family see the differenbce
between normal aging and the problems presented by the
horrible disease Alzheimer's. Our fears have been minimized
knowing what signs to look for that are normal and those
that could be early signs of Alzheimer's. Thanks for all
the great information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plain Talk is just what this book is, October 9, 2006
This review is from: At Wit's End: Plain Talk on Alzheimer's for Families and Clinicians (Hardcover)
The title of this book is just what it is - Plain and simple talk about Alzheimer's disease. But it is not only for families and clinicians. It is for anyone interested in the disease and how it affects not only those afflicted, but those around them. I have no family member or friend with this disease, however I found the book easy to read and easy to understand. Dr. Kraus has presented this subject in a sensitive, yet very informative manner. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to broaden their knowledge of this subject.
