Product Description

Hook up your "Vintage" Video Game System to a modern TV THROUGH THE STANDARD RF ANTENNA CONNECTION, found on the back of any of today's newer televisions! By using this adapter, you avoid trying to attach the double "screw in" spade connectors found on your old video game system's switch box! No newer TVs have had this "old school", "double spade" antenna connection since the 70's and early 80's! This adapter is compatible with any of the following systems: * Atari 2600 * Atari 7800 * "2 Port" Atari 5200 (this adapter will not work on a "4 Port" system) * Atari 400 * Atari 800 * Commodore 64 * Commodore Vic 20 * Commodore 128 * Intellivision * Colecovision * Sega Master System * Sega Genesis * and other older computers and video game systems that have a single male RCA output for both the video and sound! Have you lost or broken your old switch box? This unit completely replaces it!

I show how this product works with the Commodore 64 and a CRT television. It has a solid metal construction, and fits snugly and securely onto the coaxial connector on my television.

Hadn't used my vintage Intellivision game system for years as connector to t.v. was no where to be found. On a shot in the dark, I went on Amazon and within moments Propaganda Place was there with part i needed. Now I'm enjoying a toy I was prepared to throw out. Quick service.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Can Play my Atari 2600 Again! May 1, 2011
Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My grandmother had an Atari 2600 that I used to play when I came over as a kid. She decided she was going to throw it out but I told her I would take it instead. The only problem was that connector would not hook up to my modern flat screen. I searched the web for something to let me play my old games again and found this. At first I was skeptical but finally broke down and bought it. Turns out it works great! The picture of my Atari is crystal clear on my TV. Definitely a purchase that should be made for anyone with an old video game system, such as the Atari.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy goes it! July 9, 2011

This little adaptor just makes things easier. If you have older gaming systems, this piece connects your system to the coaxial plug on your TV. It improves the video quality over the RF box/switch. I saw a big difference. Great little piece!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing more than F-Type to RCA adapter May 6, 2013
Verified Purchase
Let me save you all a good deal of money. This item is nothing more than a simple adapter that can be bought at many places for less than $1.00. I ordered this, thinking it had something extra in it and then went home to find that I already had an adapter that was F-Type (Female) to RCA (Female) which actually works better in my situation because I'm already running a coax line to the antenna input on the TV I'm using some classic consoles on. After connecting my adapter, everything worked just as this one described. Picture was ... OK. About what you would expect/remember it to be. So when this item came in, I connected it to find out .... wait for it ... It did the exact same thing that my adapter (that I paid $0.95 for and is a gold connector).

So, to sum up. All you need is an F-Type (coaxial) to an RCA adapter. The newer TVs (any TV that is "cable ready"), does not need an RF switch to be able to display the signal. Don't be fooled into thinking this product is magical in any way. It is not.

4.0 out of 5 stars I can now play the atari I baught at a garage sale. January 14, 2012
I baughe an atari 2600 at a garage sale and checked to make sure all the parts were there. From what I saw they were, but that wasn't enough. The switchbox works with the old rabit ear prong conectors and I have a tv with those conectors. Turns out the connector box sucked by adding considerable snow and just plain not working most of the time. I did a google search to find out if there was a way to connect the single rca prong to a moddern tv. I found this and couldn't wait. I went to my local radio shack and got one. It works perfectly. I can play that atari in all it's glorry.

Though this isn't a perfect solution though. Please bare in mind that this connects directly to the cable input. So unless you have a cable box conected via HDMI or rca, you'll need to either disconect and reconect every time or get a modern signal switch box for cable like I did. But don't let that discurage you. This is well worth it.
