Favorite Game,

I don't care what anyone says, this is the best all around Battlefield SIM for the money. This game lets you do everything but fly the aircraft. The graphics may not keep up with more modern games, but if you want a really cool game that is fun for strategy and shoot em up, this is it. I do military simulations for a living, and this thing takes everything that is great about wargaming and wraps it all up in one game.

The new 3Dream engine made me have a wargasm,

Your first stop will most likely be the training module. From here, you'll learn how to pilot vehicles and fight on foot; you'll advance through well scripted, nicely narrated training missions for each of the platforms. Accompanied by some stirring classical music that'll inspire you to forget about your training orders and charge across the desert, unleashing havoc on those who would oppose you. From here you'll definitely notice the sim-like feel to driving the tanks and such, and you get your first taste of the graphics engine. If you just want to hop right in, feel free to enter the Instant action module. You'll have nearly everything under the sun thrown at you in these missions designed for those impetuous gamers, and it's a good way to sharpen your driving and shooting skills. In Wargasm, you'll fight as a foot soldier or in one of three combat vehicles. The foot soldier has a plethora of weapons at his command, some being rather interesting. You'll carry your standard machine gun, along with grenades and explosives (which can be detonated remotely!). At higher levels, you'll also carry anti-tank rockets, allowing you punch back at those battlefield behemoths. Infantry are best utilized for defense and special ops. They're difficult to see or to pick up on radar, making them useful for base infiltration. Fun is the word when you wire up enemy bases with bombs, setting them ablaze from a distance with one swift click of your detonator. When you're tired of running around, hop into an armored personnel carrier, fitted with its own MG, to quickly traverse the landscape. The real firepower is possessed by tanks and choppers. From these two, you'll heap destruction on your foes, and are the two most powerful and awe-inspiring platforms in the game. Tanks can fire several different types of ammunition from the main gun, all devastating, and are also fitted with a grenade launcher and MG to deal with pesky infantry. Choppers sport rockets, machine guns, and air-to-air missiles, making them kings of the battlefield, yet they're vulnerable to ground fire if found within enemy gunsights. All units have a nifty and functional HUD, which will relay vital information to you, such as the direction of enemies, where your weapons are pointing, and from what direction you're taking fire from.

Got it - stuck it in the Macintosh - no directions - nothing opens to suggest what to do with the disk. I'll throw it out - thank goodness it was real cheap. Unless you're a computer genius or a seven year old child, don't buy this one.
