5.0 out of 5 stars Angry Loud Intense Punk Metal explosion, December 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Atari Teenage Riot 1992-2000 (Audio CD)
I am 50 years old, enjoyed my time living in the UK(since birth) as punk rock exploded and went ww. I drank beer, went to parties & concerts and dated girls with safety pins in various body parts. I listened to some very loud, fast, intense political music during the late punk era 70's.

I am not entirely sure why I bought this CD, I can never tell my friends I love it. Loud, obnoxious piercing voice of Ms Elias, very fast guitar and streaming noise, childish vocals but sung/spoken with such intensity that you are dragged in absorbing and experiencing the sound.

Windows Media Player codes ATR as Digital Hardcore, I couldn't put it better. Wikipedia has good info on the band and players. I will say despite the assumption ATR is another neo Nazi metal band they are actually an anti Nazi high energy metal band.

There is too much chanting and spoken lyrics, some experimentation stuff that grates, but you can never escape their energy and youth. What a great fast loud explosion of noise.

You probably should not buy it. In a nutshell it is Sham 69 and The Slits on very bad drugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of by the best band ever, July 29, 2006
This review is from: Atari Teenage Riot 1992-2000 (Audio CD)
It's like nothing you've ever heard before, this is the best of album by the best group ever! It's a fast violent statement. Atari is by far the most progressive group ever existed. It's a shame Carl Crack dieed so young. There are many groups trying to copy ATR, not even one came close to the original. This album isn't for everybody, but you should have this beauty in your collection, even if you don't appreciate it, this is an unique statement. They used the onpening track of this album, speed in the latest fast and the furious 3 movie. A MUST BUY! Best album I've heard in a long long time!
