This pastry bag and tip set!
M.N.
One tip for cleaning the pastry bag is to turn it completely inside out, wash with warm soapy water, rinse & dry - pretty easy!
Julie
Because these are wide tips they're great for borders and also for filling things like cream puffs and cannoli.

I previously purchased the ateco 55 pc decorating tip set, but none of the tips were big enough to pipe out eclairs or cream puffs. After reading the reviews I decided to get this set of 3. It is such a great deal because it's about the same price as just buying a pastry bag.. here you get the tips too! Plus I got this with the 4 for 3 promo, so it came out FREE!

So, since it's not in the description I will tell you the tip numbers: the round tip is number 806 and the tip opening is 1/2 in. The star tip is number 824. It also comes with a little insert directions for mashed potatoes, eclairs, cream puffs, crullers and meringues. By the way, there is no extra container/ holder.. it all just comes in a small box which I kept and use it for storing the bag and tips.

BOTTOM LINE: great buy and try to get it with the 4 for 3 promo. I already used the round tip to make eclairs, cream puffs, and french macarons. I have yet to use the star tip, maybe I'll make some cupcakes.. I definitely recommend buying these!

I bought a set of Ateco piping tips are a catering store as it was all they had. I thought it would do for piping frosting onto cupcakes. It worked ok but the tips weren't really large enough (and I don't make the cupcakes that big). The set I bought before was more for cake decorating.

I looked all over for large tips and ended up finding them here. The bag and tips sealed well and did a great job. The the reviewers are right. I am looking forward to trying them with mashed potatoes or deviled eggs.

The mouth of the round tip measured in at 14mm diameter(large enough for me to stick a finger through) and the star tip was 10mm.

Some reviews said you need a coupler, and some said you only need a coupler if you want to switch tips while decorating. The product arrived today and was I ever perplexed! Neither the box nor the inserted instructions explain how to use without a coupler, so I had to Google it. It runs counter intuitive and veterans will laugh out loud I'm sure, but the simple answer is that without a coupler, the tip is supposed to be inserted INTO the pastry bag before you fill it. That's why you only need a coupler if you want to change tips. Now, the next thing the reviewers say is you can just use a large Ziploc bag so that you don't have to clean the bag. I wondered why the pressure would not just bust the plastic bag, and why even pay for a pastry bag in the first place? From my Internet research I find that they mean for us to cut a small hole in the tip of the plastic bag, insert the tip into the plastic bag so that it protrudes slightly through the hole we cut, put the plastic bag (with the tip already protruding) inside the pastry bag, then partially fill the plastic bag with icing. With that strategy, only the plastic bag gets dirty and the pastry bag provides the strength. Now, if I only knew how to decorate like the pictures you gals have posted on this product! Amazing.

This is a very versatile set, and a must in any kitchen! The larger tips can be used for almost anything from pate'choux, to filling deviled eggs, to dolled up mashed potatoes! The bag is strong but flexible, and can be washed and used over and over. If you do anything creative in your kitchen, you need this.

It is very hard to find large filler tubes like this with the pastry bag. I use this for cannolli and pizzelles and it is perfect. Really a great buy!

I enjoy baking and decorating cakes, but my decoration skills could use some work. That is one of the reasons I purchased the Ateco Extra Wide Pastry Decorating Tip, Set of 3. Of course without some skill your results won't be fantastic, but with a little practice they'll get better. My most recent attempt was on a cake for my daughter. I stuck with the star tip and although not fancy, my results were better than what she's used to. Because these are wide tips they're great for borders and also for filling things like cream puffs and cannoli. If still available it's worth purchasing using Amazons 4-for-3 Promo and you'll save a few bucks.

*Just added a customer image of cupcakes I made this last weekend using the star tip.

I actually bought this to use to stuff the shells/tubes when I make manicotti. It works great and the clean up is really easy. The inside of the bag is non-stick so it's very easy to wash. You slide the tip down the inside of the bag to the end and you get a tight seal so there is no leakage. Overall, a great product for baking or cooking needs.

If you are looking to decorate your cupcakes like the pros on tv do, these are the tips for you! I was looking for a low cost, high grade set of tips to make those big dollops on top of my cupcakes like the pros featured on Food Network and these tips do just that. I messed up cutting my bag to fit the tip so I had to toss it and buy another (totally my fault) so I can't comment on the bag. In addition, this set doesn't come with a coupler (large) but you can pick one up like I did at a local hobby shop for under two dollars from another well-known brand and it will fit these tips just fine. Perfect starter purchase for this mom who just wants to make pretty cupcakes like the pros.
