The Atheist Delusion: Buy this book!,
By
This review is from: The Atheist Delusion (Paperback)
Dr. Fernandes has written a timely book discussing the views of the new atheism. The militant atheism of Dawkins and the like need a sound refutation. Dr. Fernandes achieves this goal by providing evidence that it is reasonable to believe in a theistic God, and that faith in the historical Jesus of Nazareth is defensible. Fernandes makes a case for the resurrection, an event which shows that there is more to life than molecules in motion. If Jesus was raised then man has the answer to history
The religion of atheism does not offer any other alternative than a subjective relativistic worldview that needs to borrow from the absolute moral laws of Christianity. Dr. Fernandes has successfully debated some of the world's leading atheists so he is in a great position to take them to task in The Atheist Delusion. If you want to know about the new atheism--buy this book. Five stars!

Captured Me from the Cover Onward,

This review is from: The Atheist Delusion (Paperback)
I could tell by the cover (Darwin in stained glass) that it was going to be an interesting read. Dr. Fernandes didn't disappoint me. He plainly shows that the new atheists are a definable religion and that it is not irrational to believe in God. He shows how science, reason, and Biblical Christianity go hand in hand.
He gives the reader a very balanced portrayal of both sides of the debate. The suggested reading, at the end of chapter one, gives book lists from both theists and atheists. The Atheist Delusion is an immensely helpful work on the new atheism. I've read and recommend all the books that Dr. Phil Fernandes has written!

"The Atheist Delusion" a Must Read!,
By Anthony (Washington) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Atheist Delusion (Paperback)
"The Atheist Delusion: A Christian Response to Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins" is an excellent critique of the new atheists and their emotional attacks on biblical Christianity. If anyone wants to defend the faith against the new atheists, this is an excellent place to start!

Unfair,
By
This review is from: The Atheist Delusion (Paperback)
I have read Dawkins' "The God Delusion". For the sake of fairness I decided to read "The Atheist Delusion" as well.
Well, I must say that Ph.D Phil Fernandes, while pretending to attack Dawkins' statement that "there is no such thing as a god.", gives us rich examples of unfairness, beginning from old school "put words in one's mouth" to ancient school fallacies, i.e., delivering well developed conclusions that parted from vicious hypothesis. Taken as a lesson on how one can manipulate (and take advantage of) general opinions, this book is a must-read.

Affirmation for those without confdence in their faith,
This review is from: The Atheist Delusion (Paperback)
This book is great for those who are weak Christians who aren't set in their beliefs, but die hard christians wouldn't need hypocritical tripe like this or shameless self validation. Overall a poorly written and slanderous book written from a point of ignorance. Not once does the author offer up any solid eviddence or at least anything even tangible to suppost his outlandish claims.

A waste of paper,
This review is from: The Atheist Delusion (Paperback)
This book doesn't provide any real arguments for which it is written. It seems to be one of those "I believe it, so it must be true" books. The book is not very well written. It seemed to talk down to me as if I was unknowing or had no points of view of my own.
