The Athena Micra 6 Speaker System is a complete six-piece music and home theater system that is designed to complement your lifestyle, while providing sound quality second to none. This seriously designed system has four identical MS satellites with long throw woofers and a high powered tweeter, each includes a flexible mounting bracket allowing wall and ceiling mounting. The matching MC center channel is timbre matched for the best possible home theater sound. Completing the system is the M225 8" active subwoofer. Designed exclusively for the Micra system, this unique subwoofer will take little floor space while providing huge amounts of clean, distortion free bass response. The Micra system works extremely well in rooms of approximately 400 sq ft or less.

M225 Subwoofer
The M225 is a bass reflex, down firing 8" woofer design, with a forward firing bass vent. This is a seriously designed subwoofer with custom tuned crossover circuitry to provide a perfectly seamless blend between the sub and the MS satellite speaker. The critical factor in a good sounding sub-sat speaker system is the output frequencies of the subwoofer. The athena engineers utilized our SCT system, and have custom tuned the subwoofer in our anechoic measurement facilities to ensure perfect results. The biggest benefit is the set up is easier than ever, due to the sub having fewer controls to set. Simply connect and adjust the volume. A sonic blend between the subwoofer and MS speaker is guaranteed!

MS Satellites
The MS satellite is a 2-way bass reflex design that is magnetically shielded to prevent magnetic interference with your TV. The MS speaker was engineered to provide serious sound quality, not just to provide a small, lifestyle product. The 3-1/2"woofer features a huge 9 oz magnet structure and a rubber surround for high power handling and high excursion. The speaker is vented for added bass response and lower bass extension. The tweeter is based upon the award winning Teteron tweeter in the athena AUDITION and SCT series. It provides incredibly clear and accurate high frequencies, that will accurately recreate music and movie soundtracks, whether in 2 channel or multi channel.

MS Center Channel
The MC was designed to perfectly complement the MS satellite with the identical components, and an added woofer for extra power handling. The included bracket serves both as a wall mount bracket, and a base to keep the speaker oriented properly when placed on an irregular surface. Magnetically shielded, and featuring a removable grille, the MC satellite will clearly reproduce the center channel information in your home theater system

I just replaced my old Polk speakers with this setup, and I couldn't be happier. They are very good looking, easy to mount and the tiny speakers have full, warm sound. The subwoofer is perfectly matched to the speakers and I'm enjoying music (and movies) in a whole new way. For the price of most small subwoofers, you get the subwoofer and 5 speakers. If you're looking for a setup for a room of less than 400 sq ft, you can't beat this deal. Go to the manufacturer's website and check out the reviews, and then buy this setup.

I paired these speakers with a 7.1 pioneer receiver and it sounds great! I added 2 rear surround satellites to get the 7.1. Total cost with speaker stands is about $800, which isn't bad considering how good they sound. I'm a surveillance / audio video technician and I install Bose Lifestyle systems at work. This setup sounds far better than the much more expensive Bose systems. I've previously had the all in one box systems. This is a huge upgrade. I set the system up in half of our living room which is very large. Our house is timber built / post and beam. the walls, ceilings, and floors are wood. Luckily it works well for sound. I had to purchase speaker cable, because the included cables just aren't long enough for larger rooms. I'm immediately drawn in to the movies now. Voices are clear..sounds great!! I listen to music every day now that I have satellite radio......again-->no complaints. I do not crank up the base like some people prefer.......I keep it at around 3 on the subwoofer. I did crank it up just to find a comfortable listening level and I noticed it can be boomy, but what do you expect at this price range? At the comfortable base levels I use it sounds great to me. I read many reviews from many audio sites as well as user reviews and forums. I researched both speakers and receivers. The receiver makes a difference in sound too. At first I was leaning towards a custom system in the 3K range. I'm glad I didn't spend that much. These were rated the best for the $550 price range and are said to sound as good as systems costing 2k plus. Its true. The black ones can be bought for much less than the silver. FYI: do some research on how to setup and balance your speakers to get the most out of them.

All the reviews I read were right on, these speakers do just fine as an entry level surround system for dvds/movies but aren't as good for music cds. Don't get me wrong for the price I don't think you can beat it. I have these speakers set in a 20x15 room, powered by sony surround receiver. System works and sounds great. Speakers are easy to mount to the wall or where ever you want. Athena makes some stands for the speakers but the wife didn't like them so they're gone but speakers are small enough to go anywhere. So far my only negative comment would be that at times dialog sounds faint like it's coming from inside a box. This might be my fault since the TV we have does not have a large enough and flat top to place the center speaker so I mounted it slightly behind and above the TV.
