Great book for the pro's. I think Doctors and Skilled PT/PTA/OT/OTA's should have this book! It's a bit pricy but all of the info is worth it. Protocol's, Exercise, Anatomy.... its all here. Don't think about it... just buy it.

What a rich informative and indepht review of the care of the athletic shoulder. I am a non clinical person and wanted the book to assist me in undertanding the mechanics of the shoulder, prior to my having reconstructive surgery. Easy to read, yet focused on aspects of care, all that have interest in this area, should be able to learn from this book.

As a physical therapist, I found this book to be a comprehensive look at not only the athletes shoulder, but any shoulder. The list of contributing authors is a distinguished list of the top doctors, therapists and trainers in the world. The book does an excellent job of reviewing basic anatomy, biomechanics, and surgical procedures. I particularly liked the layout of the book, breaking down the shoulder by injuries as well as sport. Rehab protocols are easy to follow and produce results. Pictures demonstrating each technique for surgery, as well as therapy are throughout the book. No diagnosis is left out. The book also contains chapters on pediatric and female specific injuries which I found particularly helpful. Overall, the book is easy to follow, clear, well thought out and is a must have for any orthopedic/sports clinic.

I was eagerly awaiting this book when i heard of its upcoming release early last year and it did not disappoint. With almost 900 pages there is not much that has been left out (even some information on cricket!), but there is little if any repetition of information. The two evaluation chapters are good and are complimented well with more detailed information in subsequent chapters corresponding to their specific diagnosis. There is only one little thing i would have liked to add to the book and that is a bit of colour. It may sound a bit juvenile, but i always like some colour pictures to change up the scenery, especially when you are reading for a couple of hours.Overall, excellent and easily worth the time and money to read it.
