Perfect processor for Home Theater PC
If you are looking for a home theater PC, this processor should be considered. After growng dependant on my Media Center PC to record all my TV shows, I realized my system was drawing a lot of power. Failed out of box-difficult to get RMA
I followed proper anti-static procedures, and unit never worked. Seller referred me to manufacturer site for RMA relief, site giving me run\around over acknowledging model # etc. can't get intoarea to request RMA .Iguess I'm stuck for it. I've been burnt for a bad CPU>

If you are looking for a home theater PC, this processor should be considered.
After growng dependant on my Media Center PC to record all my TV shows, I realized my system was drawing a lot of power. Leaving a machine running 24x7 was a concern. This CPU only draws 45 watts. I combined this with the gigabyte 780G chipset motherboard. I bought a LG HD-DVD/Blu-ray combo drive and with Arcsoft Total Media theater, I can now watch HD-DVD's and Blu-ray's thru one system, as well as record all my TV shows. Checking on the performance the CPU never climbs over 50% utlization while decoding HD content.

This CPU has tripled the speed of my laptop it took about 15 mins to change it out with the 1.6 single core AMD. You can do this with an Acer Aspire 5515 the lock on the CPU has to be cut or just shortened to clear the support in the unit. Then you can replace CPU with ease. The upper right corner plate on the back of laptop has 5 screws is what you remove to replace cpu.

I had a spare motherboard so this processor helped build a great little computer with lower power consumption. Has more than enough power for me but I do not play games. I do use Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and this CPU provides enough power on an older MB (690g) with 4gb ram and Vista.

I was looking for an energy efficient processor that I could use in a media PC that I was building. This chip works great, the Kool n' Quiet technology works like a charm and the processing speed is as expected. Overall I am very pleased.
