If you came here from Home Server Hacks searching for the Amd Athlon64 Le Single-Core 1640 THIS IS NOT THE ONE.

This is the Ee and WILL NOT WORK. Your system will shut down constantly and cause various network problems and you will lose out on the $50+ you blow on this archaic CPU you will most likely not have a place for elsewhere.

I for one can't believe they still charge so much for it.

Installed it on my HP Mediasmart home server EX470.. installation was good.. needed a nice thermal paste and some cool spot as it heats up very quickly and EX470 heatsink is smaller than the original one..

but over all happy with purchase

I bought this and followed the directions provided online by another website. It was very easy. If you have to pull hard to remove anything you should reread and take a second look. It works great and is a real upgrade in power.
